GRIT 304 — 250SX — 1st — Seth Hammaker
February 28, 2026 · Seth Hammaker

With a highly competitive roster of opponents, Seth Hammaker knew that he would have to present his full arsenal of top-tier traits while stationed in Daytona on Saturday. The circuit was remarkable, and in pristine conditions as athletes took to the canvas.
Rapidly, the course was evolving with ruts spanning seemingly in every facet across the track. Nevertheless, he carved through the canvas with authority. As sections began to deteriorate, he would find a way to thrive...hopping from the most subtle of edges. throughout a multitude of knuckles, and various rollers that were beginning to form. His trajectory was excellent, however, a serious crash at one point amid qualifying would have many questioning if he could even race, later on in the day! Though the tenacity of Hammaker prevailed...and he appeared more than ready as 250SX Heat Two came to fruition. He quickly advanced into a fourth-place standing, behind Jo Shimoda. Both he and Shimoda, then surpassed Daxton Bennick on lap two..which equated to the Pennsylvanian now residing third. With Shimoda just ahead, Hammaker vowed to launch forward with all of his might. The determination would equate to a magnificent advanced ahead of Jo, on the fourth circuit...and from there, it seemed as if the Kawasaki athlete were going to reside in runner-up territory. Though as the race neared conclusion, and Hammaker was pursuing race leader, Drew Adams, Seth would fall in the corner before the finish line! Luckily he rebounded quickly, and would claim third place, behind the aforementioned, Shimoda! For the main event, he was willing to push the envelope, from the moment pin(s) unlatched. His aspirations were significant, and translated to an initial standing of first! His leap from the starting line was magnificent. Seth would round the opening corner while claiming the hole-shot designation. And from there, the trek to the finish line would begin. Strong laps would begin to be stockpiled as he accelerated through the landscape. Steadily, significant margins over opponents, including Jo Shimoda, would begin to extend! Consistently, the Pennsylvania native would hit his marks, remain upright, and relatively mistake free...while a series of battles ensued in the positions behind him. At the halfway point, Seth seemed to possess the necessary traits needed to win the event. However, opponents, including Yamaha's Cole Davies, were doing their best to track him down. When it mattered most, and the final three laps came to fruition, the Pennsylvania excelled. He was tremendous as the crowd began to cheer, and pressure would arise. He would take the white flag, with a more-than-sufficient lead over the rest of the pack. And as the thirteenth circuit took place, It was Seth, who ultimately flew over the finish line double, to collect this legendary main event win, in Daytona, Florida!
