GRIT 304 — 250SX — 10th — Devin Simonson

The conditions of this raceway were set to test riders in all facets. Though Jalek Swoll prepared tirelessly, and was eager to leap onto the raceway as practice began. The technicality of this course couldn't be disregarded, though he seemed to adapt to the ever-changing raceway, as time progressed. Lines were beginning to form across the landscape and pegs would drag as he upshifted through the transmission en route to the finish line, continuously. His outlook for the upcoming heat race was superb, though he knew he would have to blend a myriad of strong laps together in order to garner a significant gate choice for the main event. With the night show program set to begin, he awaited for the bracket to fall before twisting the throttle with all-out acceleration. He would dive through the most chaotic portions of lap number one to acquire a standing of sixth. Minimal separation would transpire as the race began to take place, though with his efforts) he could toggle between a series of excellent, offensive and defensive game-plan(s). These wall-jump(s) were a means of attack for him, where he charged to the top of a particular face before applying the utmost force into his rear brake..seemingly sliding atop the ramp before accelerating across the back-side. The instances like these, translated to him having a considerable "upper-hand" per se, when battling with opponents such as Cullin Park, Izaih Clark, and Devin Simonson. Swoll seemed to be on-fire in a multitude of areas (after he had passed Marshal Weltin for fifth. Though as the race neared conclusion, Park, Clark, and Simonson would work their way past (with a few mistakes being presented by the Triumph athlete. Nevertheless, Jalek would transfer to the main event via eighth, at the checkered flag. For the finalé, athletes and fans alike would anticipate a significant fight within the 250SX category. They were correct, as opponents advanced throughout the raceway, with a serious clash of handlebars) and accompanying frames! He managed evade many troublesome sequences though and accelerated forward to collect an early moto-standing of seventh. His on-going battles, were sustained for a significant number of laps...where many in the pack were nearly identical in speed! Through many of the switchback sections, he continued to remain on the throttle when the course would roughen...even as ruts would nearly force his bike to a halt! As the halfway point and three-quarter mark transpired, he continued to showcase remarkable focus and stamina, despite being passed by Cole Davies and Daxton Bennick in the earlier moments of the contest. He too, would gain a position (moving forward from ninth to eighth) with Drew Adams sliding outside of the top-ten...and as the checkered flag was thrown, it appeared as if Jalek had taken the eighth-place overall achievement.

However, he would be given a penalty of two positions, as results were finalized...thus, Swoll resided in tenth overall, for this round of racing in Daytona.
