GRIT 303 — 450SX — 7th — Joey Savatgy

Joey Savatgy had sharpened every aspect of his game within the Supercross genre of racing. His talent had been displayed throughout the 2026 season, and he couldn't wait to continue ascending while stationed in Arlington, Texas, on Saturday. Every component of his motorcycle looked to be polished and on-point as he leapt through the largest rhythm lanes this track had to offer. He was stylish, yet calculated and methodical, creating the perfect blend of a motocross rider as he neared the finish line. On multiple occasions, he would battle within the highest tier of the leaderboard and prove that he could obtain an eventual single-digit overall score as the night's festivities came to an end. But first, he would have to go to the heat race. Once there, he clicked into the gear, and never looked back. While sliding through the first corner and sequences thereafter, every position was valuable within sprint-like format which was taking place. He would be located in a standing of third, while contending within striking distance for the lead alongside Hunter Lawrence and Eli Tomac! Upon landing from the finish line jump, his rear wheel was constantly spinning, generating immense traction as the knobbies dug into the canvas. In the moments that followed, he and Eli would go back-and-forth. Each athlete would crowd the other out per se, but even as the KM athlete made his way past (in the early-going) Savatgy vowed to not back-down. This led to a constant pursuit of the Colorado native's rear wheel, and with two circuits to go, Savatgy's momentum was enough to topple the speed of Tomac (which led to the pass being made)! The advancement was magnificent, and helped Savatgy capture the second-place standing...where he resided, through the ninth lap and checkered flag! For the main event, athletes from each heat race and the accompanying LCQ, were set to battle. He welcomed the challenges of all, and executed his first moments of the contest while residing near a standing of eighth. His momentum from the brilliant heat-race performance was being built upon, and he quickly surpassed Vince Friese and Aaron Plessinger, to claim the sixth-place residency! He remained here through lap five, before an unfortunate mistake would have him descending to tenth. He wasn't going to give-up, and knew that his speed on this racetrack was among the highest tier, because of what was showcased in the aforementioned divisional round. Therefore, he ultimately sped past Dylan Ferrandis, Aaron Plessinger,

and Malcolm Stewart in the final

stages! As lap twenty-two came to fruition, Savatgy would occupy seventh-place. He could see Chase Sexton ahead, and knew that his momentum on this circuit was on-par with the Kawasaki athlete. With the timer nearing zero, Savatgy proceeded to put his all into this main event. His effort was well-respected, and with a valiant scrub across the finish line, Joey claimed seventh in the record book.
