GRIT 303 — 450SX — 6th — Chase Sexton

Regardless of the expectations for Chase Sexton, the talent level and skillset which the Illinois native possessed on the motorcycle couldn't be questioned. He'd won at the highest stages throughout his career, and knew that he could generate a stellar finish while stationed in Arlington on Saturday as well. His speed into the steepest bowl turn(s), was among the best in the category. He would pair those attributes, with high-flying rhythm combinations which portrayed complete trust in his motorcycle. From there, he looked ahead to heat number two where engines would rev behind the line. Knowing, that a strong gate choice for the main event was on the line, Sexton rushed from behind the bracket and into a position of single-digit territory, as matters) transpired.

He had moved into seventh rather quickly, and then underwent a brief battle with Garrett Marchbanks

- to claim

sixth, with just under four minutes remaining on the clock. From there, Sexton remained. He was efficient on the motorcycle,

but knew that he aspired for more. Regardless of the circumstances, the sixth-place result, for the

divisional round, was enough to transfer him to the main event. In the main event, he would accelerate onto the soil with a goal to acquire the highest standing possible, in mind. After being located in an early-race standing just outside of the top-ten, he would be spotted in eleventh. From there, he would do his best to battle alongside opponents including Malcolm Stewart and Dylan Ferrandis. This wasn't the start he had hoped for, but the Illinois native wasn't going to give-up. Ninth was occupied on the fourth circuit, and as he pursued (and surpassed) Joey Savatgy and Dylan Ferrandis, he then appeared to be solidified in seventh. However, he strove for more..and surpassed Ohio's Aaron Plessinger on the ninth circuit! Once into sixth, Sexton began to engage in a notable pace.

He attacked the corners and straightaways with intensity, all the while trying to track-down Justin Cooper. Though the Yamaha rider was executing a superb game-plan, and continued to remain ahead as the checkered flag neared.

Sexton, with error-free riding in the final moments, put forth a well-respected surge as the clock struck zero.

However, it was Justin Cooper who remained ahead - thus, as results were finalized in the LoneStar State, Kawasaki's Chase Sexton would claim sixth in the record book.
