GRIT 303 — 450SX — 2nd — Eli Tomac

Throughout each stop on the tour thus far, Eli Tomac had excelled. He planned to do the same, while stationed in Dallas, Texas this year. From the intricacies of his riding style and bike set-up, few could second-guess his abilities to contend for an overall championship. Though after being in this form of racing for long enough, the veteran aptitude of Tomac knew that he would have to take this process, on race at a time. His output of momentum and bike control in practice, was stellar. His turning abilities were phenomenal, and led to a series of lap-times) which the competition couldn't ignore. From there, he was established on the starting line, of heat

number two. Once storming from the grate, he would acquire a standing of second

- after an exceptional battle

with Joey Savatgy. They would both pursue Hunter Lawrence. Tomac seemed solidified within the second-place standing, before a mistake in a long rhythm lane (just before the white flag would actually allow Savatgy, the means of working his way past! Thus, Tomac had descended to third! He would do his best to work around Joey, but in the end, the KM athlete would have to settle for third. For the finalé, Tomac sprinted into the opening sequences to obtain a position of fourth, despite a lackluster jump from the grate. He wasn't far from Hunter Lawrence, and he (Tomac) remained in fourth, while approaching the initial trio. It was Cooper Webb, who then appeared on the horizon as the Yamaha rider drifted to third. Tomac stalked both of the competitors ahead, and while within the final quarter of the contest, he would await for Roczen to slip-up per se. That moment would come, before the gigantic rhythm lane in the middle of the circuit. Thus, as Webb would propel past Roczen, soo too would Eli take advantage! It was almost as if Tomac were awaiting for the perfect window to pass, and followed the North Carolina native, around the German rider! Though in a stealth-like manner, Tomac declared that he was going to pounce on the Yamaha machine quickly...giving Cooper minimal time to be established in the runner-up territory. Thus, in the right-handed berm that followed, Eli would cut across multiple ruts, and force Cooper to the outer boundary of the raceway...and the Yamaha opponent, would then briefly drift off of the track! Second-place was then Tomac's, and despite the valiant effort (while surging toward the rear wheel of Hunter Lawrence), the charge was too little, too late. However, the performance was phenomenal by the KTM athlete, and in the end, Tomac's relentless effort led to second in the final standings!
