GRIT 303 — 450SX — 3rd — Cooper Webb

Momentum was building for Cooper Webb, as the 2026 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship transpired. The Yamaha competitor had been sensational, on tracks) that weren't necessarily his best (regarding statistical averages of the past). Which indicated that he was in a prime position, to ascend even higher when entering into venues) such as Arlington! The North Carolina native knew that he could excel in this soil, and seemed as if he had a point to prove as practice took place on Saturday. Revving could be heard as he soared through the air, and it was as though he emphasized every millisecond as a means to gain time on his opponents! That notion continued, as gate(s) rose and fell for 450SX Heat Two of the night show program. As the race began, it was Webb who would occupy a standing of fourth, after contending with Aaron Plessinger. He would trail Joey Savatgy, and Eli Tomac, along with Hunter Lawrence. With laps progressing, Webb remained in the fight...but couldn't diminish the gap between he and the other opponents on the racetrack. Thus, as the checkered flag was thrown, the native of North Carolina would take a well-respected fourth-place accolade. For the finalé, Webb would use his throttle to accelerate from the starting line, and after bolting into corner number one, Cooper would eventually obtain a position of second, after going bar-to-bar with Roczen! Webb would have the lead for a small bit of time, but it was ultimately Ken who took reign of the field. He remained in second, until around approximately five minutes of the contest had transpired - when a mistake at the beginning of a technical rhythm lane, would enable Lawrence to work his way past! Now third, he would begin to track-down Ken Roczen in the final quarter of the contest. While taking many inside(s) and jumping through the whoops, his methodical advancement eventually led to a pass with just under four minutes left on the clock. It was technical block-pass. and propelled him to second. However, only moments later, would Eli slightly push Webb to the outer boundary of the racetrack in the corner after..forcing Cooper back to fourth! Quickly though, he surpassed Ken in the bend following the mechanic's area, creating a new line of sorts, to reclaim third! There wasn't much time left, and despite Cooper being unable to surpass Tomac, the bronze-medal award was notable and kept him within the championship hunt.
