GRIT 303 — 450SX — 1st — Hunter Lawrence

As weeks) past within the 2026 series, the consistency of Hunter Lawrence remained. He was steadfast in his pursuit of remarkable achievements, and even when rare mistakes were made, the Australian would find a way to instantly rebound, and garner a large sum of points as the race concluded. For practice on Saturday, he was smooth across every aspect of the landscape. When timing the steepest rhythm lanes, he managed to construct together remarkable lines and patterns that were on-par with series rivals (i.e. Ken Roczen and Eli Tomac). Thus, there was little to critique as he made his way to the starting line for 450SX Heat Two. As the thirty-second board would go sideways, Lawrence launched onto the canvas while rapidly shifting through the transmission. He would obtain a position of first, just ahead of Joey Savatgy and Eli Tomac. As laps progressed, Lawrence would hold the lead for a considerable amount of time. However, a slight leap off the race-track, would nullify the once, sufficient gap. As the checkered flag grew nearer, Tomac's presence couldn't be denied...though it was actually Joey Savatgy who stormed past the Colorado native. Nevertheless, when it mattered most, Hunter evaded the pursuit of each of his competitors...taking a notable heat race victory.

With stakes at their highest, Hunter rushed into the opening portions of the main event while being located in a standing of third. He remained here through approximately five minutes of competition, before a mistake from Cooper Webb (to begin a technical rhythm section) allowed Hunter to burst by with a surge of momentum! From there, he immediately attacked Suzuki's Ken Roczen. Multiple lunges were made amid a series of jumps, which created a dramatic cluster of the top-four! He stalked the rear wheel of Roczen, until just under six minutes were left on the clock. A brilliant pass on the outside of a bowl turn, before a technical rhythm section, enabled the Australian to surpass him once and for all! From there, he would do his best to break away from the pack.

With the crowd on their feet and cheering, Lawrence embraced the excitement from those in attendance. He'd done it, and crossed the finish line to claim the overall victory in Dallas! The performance was phenomenal, and undoubtedly a spark of sorts, in his quest for an overall championship in the 2026 series!
