GRIT 303 — 250SX — 6th — Drew Adams

With the 250SX East Coast Championship beginning, the narrative for this particular series had yet to be written. Among the top-tier contenders, were competitors such as Seth Hammaker, Cole Davies, and countless others. Though the aptitude of Drew Adams couldn't be overlooked as he dashed onto the racetrack, for Saturday's practice sessions. He immediately presented himself as an elite member of the field — with remarkable navigation amongst the evolving course. When scrubbing his way over the finish-line, he seemed extremely agile on the motorcycle — which equated to his confidence in how the bike was going to react. Through every aspect of each session, his performance was applaud-worthy, creating an excellent foundation for further success in the upcoming night show program. Upon shifting into gear, he attacked the raceway with fearlessness. The first-lap was rather hectic, as athletes battled for the highest standing possible. While launching over the finish line jump, he would corral a standing of tenth. Instantly, he knew that his highest speed(s) would have to be engaged, within this sprinting format. There wasn't a surplus of time to work from, like in the forthcoming main event...so he proceeded to launch forward — attacking the technical whoop section with remarkable entrance speed. Steadily, he would advanced through the pack. Opponents including Jeremy Hand, Luke Neese, Marshal Weltin, and Devin Simonson would eventually be overtaken. His effort(s) through the nine-lap contest were admirable, and ultimately led to a notable gate-choice being collected, via sixth-place in the contest's final standings! Racers would watch the gate in unison for the finale. Remarkable anticipation and reaction time were showcased by many, though as he sped through the opening sequences of the contest, he appeared to reside around an approximate standing of eleventh. Intensity and an emphasis on pinpointing the quickest lines, was now paramount in one's quest to the front of the pack. While blitzing through the whoop section, he could sense that a pack of roaring engines were seemingly trying to engulf his thinking process. He wouldn't be rattled, and maintained composure while within action-packed battle(s) with Cullin Park, Kyle Peters, Derek Kelley, and various others. When ample airtime was sustained, he would take a few deep breaths — before embarking on a hard-charging effort once more! When racing past the mechanic's area, he knew that a single digit standing had been solidified around the third and fourth circuits, but felt as if he could strive higher. He would then do so, while passing Devin Simonson. The Tennessee native would occupy fifth for a significant amount of time...proving that he could thrive within the pace of the top-five. However, it was on the fourteenth circuit, when a hard-charging Yamaha athlete (i.e. Cole Davies) possessed a bit more momentum than he, and swept past the Kawasaki rider. Thus, from that point onward, Adams remained in the sixth-place standing...accruing a significant achievement, for the season opening event
