race recap
GRIT 303 — 250SX — 3rd — Daxton Bennick
February 21, 2026 · Daxton Bennick

His prowess on the SX track was phenomenal. Throughout the off-season, the tireless work-ethic of Daxton Bennick was constantly heightening
- where he sharpened each tool of his world-renowned repertoire, while believing that he could
contend for the highest feats within this competitive category. All of the waiting, with remarkable anticipation, had now come to this point -which explained his determination being portrayed, throughout each practice round on Saturday.
Sound waves from his exhaust would echo amongst the stadium walls — with a definitive bark perse, creating significant attention within the crowd. Many would cheer, and label him as a favorite for a notable overall finish...if he could only limit his mistakes, and avoid disastrous sequences in the race(s) ahead. Not long thereafter, would competition begin for the heat race sector of events. While doing his best to burst down the straightaway and pin-point the inner most lane(s) of turn number one, he and his machine would be solidified in a standing of third. From there, he did his best to mimic the flow of race leaders, (Seth Hammaker and Jo Shimoda) after the divisional round had been restarted (due to a red-flag incident). Bennick would maintain the third-place trajectory for three laps, before engaging in a rivalry with Coty Schock. Schock was stellar, and despite doing his best to keep the Yamaha rider at bay, Coty made his way by on lap four. Though Bennick wasn't discouraged, and continued to generate as many strong rhythm combinations as possible. However, one final battle with Pierce Brown ensued. Despite Bennick's efforts, the Yamaha athlete was able to make his way by at the conclusion of the whoop section, with minimal time remaining. Thus, Daxton would have to take a fifth-place score at the finish line. A wave of incredible momentum would funnel into the opening bend for the main event. Serious sums) of points were on the line, and while he seemingly jousted amongst various other handlebar(s) across the pack, he would secure a standing of approximately fourth when crossing the finish line. Urgency, would be embodied within his riding style. Though he seemed to flow on the rutted race-track with remarkable composure. Quickly he moved past Devin Simonson and would do his best to latch onto the leaders of the pack. In the laps that followed, Bennick showcased the utmost consistency. Lap by lap, he was precise with his marksmanship and put forth error-free circuits while monitoring Pierce Brown and Jo Shimoda, who weren't far ahead.
Throughout the twenty-lap finalé, Bennick would prove that he was one of the top contenders amongst the division. He handled the pressure that accompanied this level of standing, and while keeping Seth Hammaker at bay, it was Husqvarna's Bennick who took the third-place overall achievement!
