GRIT 302 — 450SX — 8th — Joey Savatgy

The course in Seattle was set to develop quickly as racers took to the track. Instantly, athletes would rut-up the course, and even the sand section was breaking down within a few seconds of practice taking place! Joey Savatgy knew that assembling a consistent, and ascending run was pivotal to his success later on in the night show. That trek would begin as practiced continued to progress throughout the afternoon hours. Moment by moment his confidence would grow - and he was anything but stationary on the foot-pegs. He continued to be light on his feet while the chassis would work underneath him. When crossing the finish line, it was clear that he was on a remarkable trajectory, and shortly thereafter fans in attendance would flock to the stadium. He embraced the moment and shifted into gear without hesitation as action for heat number two began. While battling through technical moguls of the whoop section in the earliest stages, he would power to a position of fourth. This track could seemingly reach up and force a rider into a mistake in a split second

- though he was

able to evade the charge of many, while swapping standing(s) with Aaron Plessinger.

Though as the race

progressed, it was clear that the composure of Savatgy was beginning to be revealed. He was steadfast in fourth-place, even as Chase Sexton began to increase the pace in the final moments of the contest. When it mattered most, Savagy continued to keep Sexton at bay....esulting in a fourth-place standing for the athlete who sported the number seventeen across his machine! His marksmanship was pristine throughout the opening lap of the main event. After fierce battles ensued throughout the landscape, he would power forward to collect a standing of twelfth. He quickly moved into eleventh after passing Ty Masterpool, and from there, he steadily chipped away at the gap(s) of the pack in front of him. Jason Anderson would eventually be surpassed, and so too, would Dylan Ferrandis! Savatgy was relentless in his pursuit of the checkered flag, and with another consistent performance, Joey claimed eighth at the finish line - following Ken Roczen's late-race crash, which propelled the Honda athlete forward, one more position amongst the final standings! From here, Savatgy will look to continued excelling amongst the premier division...proving that his skillset is among the category's elite, as the series moves forward
