race recap
GRIT 302 — 450SX — 7th — Aaron Plessinger
February 14, 2026 · Aaron Plessinger

Despite the track being rather muddy for the earliest practice sessions, the afternoon sun would appear, making the soil in the Pacific Northwest extremely abundant with traction. Ohio's Aaron Plessinger immediately located the fastest lines as the afternoon transpired, and while rivaling top-tier opponents, he knew that there couldn't be any second-guessing as he attempted to conquer this technical track. When flying across the finish line double, he landed time and time again with authority. He was proficient when navigating through rutted bowl turns, and he avoided many instances of casing...and instead he downsided) jumps with perfection. His outlook for the upcoming heat race was stellar, therefore, he couldn't wait to man his machine while sitting on the starting grate. Upon clicking into gear, he immediately powered from behind the bracket, rocketing onto the start straightaway, while scanning the course for the optimal pathways. There were a multitude of factory level stars around him, but he wasn't discouraged, and would ultimately fly past the green flag to collect a standing of fifth, after fiercely contending with Chase Sexton and Joey Savatgy (as the KTM athlete appeared to reside in third, briefly, before each of the aforementioned competitors snuck past). From there, the chess match would begin. Each sector was difficult to solve, though with rapid thinking and a high-level aptitude, Plessinger was able to weave amongst the segments of the layout. With Chase Sexton making a mistake on the second-lap, Aaron would actually gain two positions... with the KM athlete obtaining standings once held by Joey Savatgy, and the aforementioned Kawasaki athlete.
Once ahead of both competitors, Plessinger was solidified in third
- displaying remarkable consistency, from the third circuit
through the checkered flag! For the opening stages of the main event, he navigated through the pack with remarkable rhythm.
This led to a standing of second being contended for - as he and Eli Tomacwere going bar-to-bar for the runner-up position!
Despite the Colorado native working his way past, Plessinger would occupy third, while then battling with Ken Roczen! Each rider was giving it their all, and even as Roczen moved forward, Plessinger would latch onto the rear wheel of the German competitor. From there, he remained in fourth for a significant amount of time, before Justin Cooper and Chase Sexton would work their way around, as the eighth-lap took place. Significant battles then occurred, between he, Hunter Lawrence, and Malcolm Stewart. The Ohio native was stellar, and even as he descended to eighth, he remained in a close-enough position, that he would take advantage of Ken Roczen's unfortunate collision in the final sequences. Thus, as the checkered flag was thrown, Plessinger's admirable performance equated to seventh overall in the record book.
