race recap
GRIT 302 — 250SX — 6th — Michael Mosiman
February 14, 2026 · Michael Mosiman

Michael Mosiman's technicality on the motorcycle was unbelievable. The way he could attack and carve through a Supercross canvas was world-renowned. Through each facet of a raceway, he was stellar and continued to ascend as the 2026 season had transpired. In recent weeks, it was evident that he was becoming more acclimated to how the motorcycle moved around a particular landscape. This was displayed once more on the technical raceway in the Pacific Northwest. Saturday's venue was undoubtedly a standout stop on the tour, and presented a multitude of variables for each athlete attempted to try and conquer.
Moment, by moment he continuously passed tests that were put before him. While racing through the toughest rhythm lanes, he could shave milliseconds off of his eventual final lap-time with mere scrubs and suspension compresses. In the end, his myriad of lap times were among the best in the category. This translated to an admirable gate choice for the second heat race. Once there, he bolted from the starting line and immediately strove to attack. He looked to put forth an offensive game plan and while flying past the green flag, he would obtain a standing of fourth. Upon landing, his rear wheel continuously spun, digging into the Northwest soil while clawing for every bit of traction it could muster. The berms at this point of the night show were pristine and allowed him to lean his chassis at an incredible angle before flying over steep takeoffs. Mosiman's prowess was evident, and it led him to an extensive battle with Hunter Yoder, with around four minutes and forty-seconds on the clock. He (Michael) appeared to have the move made per se, once exiting a technical switchback section. Then third, he would track-down Lux Turner, before colliding into the rear wheel of the Nevada athlete (with two minutes remaining on the timer), while exiting the bend which was adjacent to the mechanic's area!
Luckily, Mosiman remained upright...though he descended to fourth. He then trailed Hunter Yoder once more - and after seemingly a three-way battle transpired, it seemed as if Michael had the pass finalized in the corner after the whoops! Less than one minute remained, and all seemed to be clear...until a surprising block-pass attempt (in a right-handed bend which connected to the start straightaway) sent both athletes to the ground! They both remounted quickly, however, and Mosiman was able to salvage a sixth-place score at the checkered flag. For the finalé, a series of hard-fought shuffles on the first lap, would position him into sixth. He would go bar-to-bar with that of Lux Turner and Ryder DiFrancesco, before making his way ahead of both opponents. He rapidly pursued Haiden Deegan, but couldn't seem to overtake the fellow Californian when their machines were in striking distance to one another. Thus, Mosiman began to establish a pace in sixth-place. Lap by lap, he remained consistent in this position...not too far from Cameron McAdoo, who was fifth. Though as the race progressed, Mosiman was seemingly solidified in the aforementioned standing. He remained here, seemingly from start-to-finish, and as the checkered flag was thrown, it was the Yamaha athlete who scored sixth in the record book!
