GRIT 302 — 250SX — 10th — Carson Mumford

With competition set to begin in Seattle, Washington, racers like Carson Mumford were eager to contend for the superb-level accolades This race was unique and presented a multitude of variables to compete amongst. However, his mindset was one that embodied resiliency, and he looked forward to putting forth a valiant effort while stationed in the Northwest. For practice, he would take a few laps to survey the course, knowing that the track was ever-changing and guaranteed to break down. Jump faces, berms, and various other obstacles, couldn't necessarily be trusted. A particular smooth path on one lap could immediately change and deteriorate, seemingly instantly Nevertheless, with his remarkable aptitude on the motorcycle, he found a way to prevail. His trajectory, throughout each session, was phenomenal. From there, the stage had been set for an incredible divisional round in the night show. Once onto the starting gate, he visualized an impactful beginning to the forthcoming race. As he clicked into gear, nothing could stand in his way. Immediately, he bolted onto the start straightaway, with little regard for fear. He was willing and looked forward to battling at the highest levels, which translated to an opening position of sixth. The search for clear vision was immediately engaged, with a thorough hunt for optimal lines being presented in every facet of the raceway. As RPM's would rise, so too would his tenacity on the motorcycle. He would surpass Joshua Varize on the second lap, and then reside behind a pack of riders including Hunter Yoder and Michael Mosiman. As each competitor unfortunately fell to the ground, it was Mumford who became the recipient of higher positioning

- and he vaulted to third..where he

remained, through the checkered flag! For the main event, athletes charged onto the opening straightaway and into the segments thereafter with immense determination. Every standing upon the leaderboard was valuable, and as he stormed to a position of sixteenth. Despite being a bit buried in the pack, he believed that he could succeed throughout the entire showcase. As the narrative began to be written, he would sprint from berm to berm — using the outside lines as a means to stabilize his chassis, and propel forward with remarkable velocity. The track was significantly breaking down at this stage of the night show - though his incredible vision led him past opponents including Crockett Myers, Avery Long, and Lux Turner among others! He had moved into tenth-place on lap eleven, and could sense that Joshua Varize was putting forth a rapid pace (in eleventh). However, as the eighteenth circuit came to a conclusion, it was Mumford who prevailed

- earning tenth in the record book!
