GRIT 301 — 450SX 6th — Joey Savatgy

Certain changes and configurations would have to be applied to each motorcycle as they accelerated onto the canvas in Glendale. This track was not like any other on the tour. Though the aptitude of Joey Savatgy was more than capable of excelling within this Phoenix venue. For practice, he waited on the start straightaway with an incredible amount of aggression embodied as the motorcycle idled. He couldn't wait to be cued and engaged to move forward onto the racetrack. After taking a minute or two to survey the landscape, an unforgettable plethora of laps were strung together, which rivaled those of Eli Tomac, Cooper Webb, Hunter Lawrence, and many others. A thorough sense of analysis was gathered as he continued to launch throughout the raceway. While battling for a position of third in the heat, he had to blend high-speed and rather hard-packed areas of the track together, while contending with opponents such as Vince Friese. Savatgy had leapt into runner-up standing by the second-lap of the divisional round, and remained there through the finish. For the main event, all riders bolted across the starting line. He charged into the following sequences with remarkable aggression — willing to bang bars with the best in the category. His entry speed into the whoop section was phenomenal, and helped him flow through the approaching sectors with applaud-worthy velocity. Quickly, in the immediate laps that followed, he surpassed opponents including Vince Friese, Dylan Ferrandis, and Malcolm Stewart, translating to a sixth-place effort by lap five. From there, Savatgy's prowess was one of mistake-free riding. He was phenomenal and continued to reiterate his stance of being a top-tier competitor within the premier category. His overall result (of sixth) would be applauded by thousands of fans throughout the venue in Arizona.
