race recap
GRIT 301 — 250SX 8th — Max Anstie
February 7, 2026 · Max Anstie

After countless laps of training in the days prior, Max Anstie seemed more than ready to conquer the track which was created in the southwestern United States. The Glendale venue was unique and tested a rider in all facets...and one must be firing at the highest capacity per se if they wanted to excel on a racetrack such as this. Though enthusiasts in the stands would applaud his efforts as he carved through the layout on Saturday. These rhythm lanes were rather extended and forced athletes to triple their way through in order to clinch a strong gate choice for the upcoming heat race. He conformed to the ever-changing surface and seemed more prepared than ever to excel in the forthcoming divisional round. After racing from the starting-line to begin the heat race, he appeared to have took the initial race lead in heat number one — though with a bit of excessive acceleration into turn number one, he would sweep into the outer bank and the stalling of momentum would force him to the back of the pack! He would fly to the finish line to collect a standing of fifteenth, then pass a multitude of opponents — including Logan Leitzel, Robbie Wageman, and Cole Thompson — to claim fifth-place with a bounce-back effort at the checkered flag! In the main event, the track had now evolved to a course which was unrecognizable compared to its practicing realm. He began to surge forward — Sixteenth became twelfth, then tenth, by lap six. Parker Ross and Avery Long were next, and with a notable flow amongst the longest rhythm lanes, Anstie was able to eventually surpass each of the aforementioned duo. From there, he was solidified in eighth — and resided here, with a commendable effort at the Monster Energy Finish Line.
