GRIT 301 — 250SX 4th — Michael Mosiman

A remarkable output of speed was shown by Michael Mosiman. His trajectory was superb, and it was evident that he was on the right track, both literally and figuratively. The soil had been broken down a bit from athletes on press day, though the course was certain to blend a series of hard-packed sections and softer terrain areas together to create quite the riddle for these athletes to solve. He could somehow analyze the track while at the height of third and fourth gear...and his awareness was unbelievable. He remained steadfast through the toughest rhythm sections while launching dozens of feet above the stadium floor. His marksmanship couldn't be disregarded — and was the means of tenth(s) of seconds being gained when he bolted to the eventual finish line. From start-to-finish throughout the qualifying sectors, he was among the top of the division. In the heat race, he took an opening lap standing of third, then overtook Carson Mumford for second-place. Though unable to track-down Deegan, Mosiman's ride for second-place was commendable. For the main event, Mosiman bolted to an early race standing of second. He and his Yamaha machine were in total synchronization, showing remarkable composure for nearly the entirety of the contest. The phenomenal run was extended and sustained as approximately two minutes remained on the clock. Though with the checkered flag nearing, he was rivaled by Kawasaki's Levi Kitchen — who made a decisive move via a "slick" inside line amongst the sand, just before the finish line. Unfortunately, this deterred Michael to third, and from there, Cameron McAdoo would reel-him in as well, passing Mosiman just after the whoop section prior to the white flag. The run to fourth-place was admirable...and Mosiman ultimately claimed the fourth-place achievement as the checkered flag was thrown — garnering a notable sum of points for this round of racing in Glendale.
