GAVIN MCCOY - GRIT 232 65CC ALL-STARS

GAVIN MCCOY | GRIT-232 | 65CC ALL-STARS

The fearlessness of every athlete within the 65cc All-Stars main event would be incredible, as racer's sprinted onto the circuit for practice without hesitation. All competitors on the roster were soaring over the largest jumps on the track with their engines revved to the highest extent, floating through rhythm section(s) that were just like the professionals that had gone before them. And amongst those atop the leaderboard on 65cc machinery would be Cobra's Gavin McCoy, who'd had a superb season thus far and aspired to keep the momentum rolling throughout the first round of SuperMotocross. He'd excelled on every portion of this layout in practice, which gave him confidence when shifting into gear as his engine idled on the starting line. Once the gate(s) fell however, it was Gavin McCoy who accelerated to an awesome start...so much so, that he would lead the field through the first lap! His battle with KTM's Jackson Vick then began, where he defended the main lines from the number seventy with brilliant race-craft; but Jackson was able to secure the lead prior to the second lap being completed, therefore McCoy immediately attached to his rear wheel and followed the veteran of the division. Gavin was flawless through the rougher portion(s) of the raceway where he transitioned from sitting to standing with effortlessness while allowing the chassis to flow amongst the bumps. The track had become rather slick which forced riders to monitor their weight on the front end of the machine, and McCoy's skillset would adapt immediately to the circumstances as minutes progressed - showcasing stellar traits amongst the ever-changing surface. The number sixteen (of McCoy) would defend the second-place position from a line of riders behind him, welcoming the pressure that was applied and proceeding to elevate his speed as minutes continued...which led to an incredible battle between he and Easton Graves on the sixth lap. It was hard fought, where both competitors left it all on the racetrack as they were fender to fender when weaving through the switchback just after the "SX" triple. However, it was Graves who ultimately made the definitive move once and for all as they both sped toward the finish line...yet the resiliency of McCoy was noticed by all in the crowd, who cheered when his number sixteen machine flew across the finish-line. Claiming third overall for the main event, this was certainly a performance that will be remembered throughout the rest of McCoy's racing career!
