Knowing that there wasn't much time remaining in the series, ClubMX Yamaha's Garrett Marchbanks expected the efforts of opponents like Levi Kitchen and Jordon Smith to be of the highest regard as practice came to fruition for this Missouri round. There were numerous crashes on this challenging portion of soil throughout the day, but he remained vigilant amongst the series leaders and ultimately walked away from the qualifying process of this Triple Crown event with tremendous esteem. The sense of self-belief was a catalyst for what came next, as the rider from Utah accelerated to a standing inside the top-fifteen (after hovering near the last place position) in the early going of Moto-one. There was little time to waste, with this hybrid heat-race/main-event format allowing only a few, valuable minutes of track time to be embarked upon before soaring past the checkered flag. His execution of the whoop section and rhythm lane thereafter were exceptional...threading the needle when leaping into the longest section of singles, and making the art of tripling over steep mounds of soil appear easy to enthusiasts in the crowd. The art of remaining smooth, was an attribute that nearly doubled the length of the initial margin between he and KTM's Talon Hawkins who trailed - providing enough breathing room for him to be registered in ninth-place at the checkered flag. For moto number two, it was Kitchen who led the field around...though he wasn't too far off of the pace while residing within the eighth-place position. The bend after the opening "SX" triple was starting to develop a hard-base of sorts that could catch the rear wheel of every athlete it who wasn't aware; nearly swapping the rear-end of his Yamaha chassis on more than one occasion, though he combatted the abrupt drift with a polished technique of precise throttle control as he powered into the berms that stood thereafter. Each lap, when sweeping through the back-to-back one-eighties, he monitored the distance between he and Carson Mumford who was storming forward with tremendous aggression. Though his line of defense was something that couldn't be infiltrated; leading to a position of sixth being garnered at the line. His execution of the third-moto start was applaud-worthy, and led to an advantageous path to the front, while the pack of riders began to sort themselves out per se. When landing from the finish-line, he was constantly gunning for the number twenty-four who resided ahead. The series leader acted as a marker to strive for and ultimately helped him be established within the standing of fifth after a brilliant march forward in the final moments...overtaking various factory riders when nearing the checkered flag - to secure sixth amongst the overall leaderboard.
