GARRETT MARCHBANKS - GRIT 245 250SX

Continuing to prove that his prowess in the mud, was of elite standard, ClubMX Yamaha's Garrett Marchbanks was eager to leap onto the racetrack in Seattle where he installed gelled with terrain of the Northwest. He was smooth, yet extremely fast, which correlated to notable lap-times in qualification...and continued well into heat number two where he and Carson Mumford were paralleled with one another. Though Marchbanks' starting position was a bit worse than the native Californian (i.e. seventh where Mumford began fourth), but the two seemed to be on a path that was set to converge as minutes progressed. Leaping through the longest rhythm lane on the track, Marchbanks would eye the number forty-one from afar before seeing an opportunity on the eighth circuit. It was then, where a definitive block-pass through the corner before the whoop section (along with commendable speed through the moguls) solidified his standing for third...where he resided at the checkered flag while feeling accomplished before the main event. Once shifting into gear for the final run, he began a march of sorts to the top-five. Residing in the latter portion(s) of the top-ten at one point, he then comfortably positioned his machine ahead of Jo Shimoda (for seventh) after the crash from the Honda rider. His process of charging toward Michael Mosiman generated tremendous applause from the crowd, and after passing the Yamaha rider in the sand (at the halfway point) he acquired sixth before moving ahead to Julien Beaumer. A brilliant move of sweeping to the outside in the corner after the whoop section was conducted, which now listed Marchbanks into fifth ahead of the SX rookie. Fourth would be conquered not long thereafter, with a doubling move to the outside of Nate Thrasher being displayed just before the whoop section...with a little over five minutes on the clock. It was a simultaneous shuffle from that point onward though, with Marchbanks battling with Honda's Jo Shimoda for the third-place position, all the while inheriting a spot in the running order due to Jordon Smith's crash. The Honda rider would somehow make his way by though, which caused Marchbanks to descend to fourth as the checkered flag was thrown. However, the ClubMX Yamaha rider had to feel accomplished with his performance; fighting from green to checkered, and making countless passes for a notable finish on this treacherous Seattle, Washington landscape.
