GARRETT MARCHBANK - GRIT 237 250SX

GARRETT MARCHBANK | GRIT-237 | 250 SX

After displaying a world renowned prowess in the muddy conditions of San Francisco, ClubMX Yamaha's Garrett Marchbanks was determined to stay at the front of the pack while returning to Southern California. Marchbanks could plant the chassis of the Yamaha 250F into various ruts around the course as practice progressed, showing versatility amongst varying angles and pathways while he strove for the highest position possible on the final leaderboard. Ultimately acquiring eleventh before moving into the night show, Garrett seemed to be a fan favorite as the green flag was tossed in the evening's divisional round. Racing amongst the outer banks of the circuit alongside countless tuff-blocks, an authoritative seat-hop would compress the rear spring to its ultimate extent before flying through rhythm sections that followed. He was ready, and eager to engage with the lead if RJ Hampshire were to make a mistake...and as the Husqvarna rider crashed while taking the green flag, the pinnacle position was then granted to Garrett! The number twenty-six would then flourish while at the front of the pack, mastering every lane and corner that he encountered with perfect balance and throttle control. Stretching his lead to well over ten-seconds, Marchbanks was in command until the checkered flag was thrown...proving that he was one of the best riders in the field! After being briefed for a game-plan for the final event of the evening, it was up to Marchbanks to assemble a rememberable run for round three of the championship. He began in an advantageous position, working his way in the realm of the lead after only a few minutes of action. Levi Kitchen would crash, allowing Marchbanks to move forward, where he eventually occupied second. Hampshire was ahead, and the number twenty-four Husqvarna was being approached rapidly on behalf of Marchbanks' Yamaha. He wasn't going to let the veteran slip away, and as Marchbanks dared to make an attempt with around nine minutes left on the clock...he remembered to remain patient. This, seemingly opened a window of opportunity as Hampshire miscalculated a jump just before the whoops - at the halfway point of the moto, which sent Marchbanks to the lead! He would hold that position until just under three minutes remained on the clock, when Nate Thrasher would surge forward just after the finish line (amongst the three singles)...and force Marchbanks to the runner up position (after he and lapped rider were tangled up). He remained here with confidence, despite RJ Hampshire being thrown into the equation in the latter stages - and a nearly three-rider shuffle being conducted, with only corners to go! Though a lapped rider would cause problematic sequence, it was Marchbanks who ultimately revved his way to second!
