Switching to the Suzuki manufacturer for the 2023 AMA Pro Motocross Championship, Sweden's Freddie Noren looked exceptional as action was underway in Pala, California on Saturday. The number forty-seven had shown flashes of brilliance in the past, and felt as if with a newfound chance, he could return to the top-ten on a number of occasions throughout this outdoor trek. Well, after qualifying tenth, there were few who doubted as to just how high he could climb in the moto's thereafter, though racing action would be anything but easy as the starting gate(s) collapsed in the first moto. He would rush through the initial left and right handed corners with his vision set on finding the clearest pathway to the front; holding his position on the racetrack despite a multitude of challengers attempting to divert him from moving forward. His pathway through the so-called "rhythm section" would consist of doubles and triples, where he stretched the frame of his Suzuki motorcycle as far as it could go in order to create a combination of trio's amongst the obstacles. These ruts upon various insides of corners were now hardened and were free-flowing; creating walls of soil that would entrench his machine beneath the foot-pegs, and force him into a particular slot for upwards to seventy feet at a time! But his balance remained on point, and he was adamant about pushing into the top-ten after beginning the moto in eighteenth. Defending his positions of fifteenth, fourteenth, and eventually thirteenth from the likes of Kaeden Amerine as he neared the finish line, it was easy to see that Noren was striving for top-ten result. But he would settle for thirteenth within the final standing(s), and returned to action for the second moto more ready than ever. For round two, all seemed to be well as he initially registered sixth as laps began to be completed. It appeared as though he had solidified the sixth-place position, but a mistake on the third lap would deter him to fourteenth where he contested various top-tier riders who were also vying to reach into single-digit territory. Now outside of the top-ten, he would return to as high as eleventh before eventually residing in thirteenth at the finish line, after what appeared to be a miscue of sorts in the final moments. But the relentless attitude of Noren was a factor that was destined to persevere, as he looked to climb even higher in the rounds ahead for the 2023 outdoor championship.
