ELI TOMAC | GRIT-210 | SX 450

The red-plate holder would announce his continuation of his professional career, via a pre-race interview that entailed his aspirations to compete in the outdoor motocross championship and remaining SuperMotocross rounds that were slated for the fall! The industry couldn't believe it, and were beyond ecstatic to see the dominant champion prolong his historic run for the rest of the 2023 season. Nonetheless, he would have to take care of business in Arlington; where a daunting Triple Crown format was presented for all in the 450cc field to race amongst. Following a stellar series of qualification trials, he would unleash an abundance of power onto the start straightway for the first moto; where his Yamaha slid around turn number-one with the hole-shot intact! His lead over the rest of the field was substantial and had greatly amplified over the obstacles that followed. Steadily, his gap ahead of Ken Roczen was amplifying; and he remained composed, and in the moment with the German rider running solidly in second. Tomac was showing the division that he possessed speed (at times) that was hard to rival, and was hitting his marks with immaculate precision while nearing the halfway point. Once past, he managed the gap over the aforementioned Roczen as he stayed steady toward the checkered flag. Eventually taking a designation of victory, Eli was well on his way to a successful night while moving ahead to moto two! For the second round, his start was solid but not quite to the magnitude of his first-moto performance; leaving him behind a few riders, though eventually moving into third as laps progressed. Meanwhile Chase Sexton was an opponent that couldn't be suppressed; and eventually made the move to the inside (after the dragon's back) and before the whoop section with nearly five-minutes remaining on the clock. Holding strong for fourth, there would be only one moto remaining as the night neared conclusion. Tomac then rose to the occasion, pushing his Yamaha to the lead while looking to break away from the field immediately. Though feeling pressure from the Honda, Chase Sexton's subtle wash-out would actually give Tomac even more breathing room than what was previously ever thought of! All seemed to be well until a mistake on the downside of the tunnel jump would deter him from his clear path to the finish-line...and start a spiral of lost positions as the race neared conclusion! Multiple mistakes would hamper his chances of an overall, and as he dwindled to sixth, third-place (in the final standings) would be the best he could accrue.
