DYLAN FERRANDIS - GRIT 240 450SX

GRIT-240 | 450 SX

To secure a top-ten overall finish within the current 450cc landscape, one must be elite. Not as if it weren't the case in season's past, but for this year, the narrative of the premier division has appeared to have risen to a new level. Nevertheless, France's Dylan Ferrandis had flourished and maintained quite the trajectory thus far in the championship - continuing on a consistent run through the practice sessions in Arizona, as racers like Jett Lawrence climbed their way to the highest tier of the standings. However he wasn't far off, and proceeded to launch onto the raceway for the first heat race of the evening with his mindset fixed, on securing a notable standing on the main event grid. Skimming the whoops at phenomenal speeds, many in the crowd seemed to notice the amount of wheel spin each rider were obtaining as they neared the finish line jump...but Ferrandis never wavered as he attempted to pursue that of single digit territory; after starting in twelfth and working his way into qualifying positions on laps two and three. The track was fresh and pristine, enabling him to maneuver wherever he wanted...though the switchbacks that crossed the start straightaway were an optimal point for Justin Cooper who was ahead, to try and evade him. Cooper was eventually successful in his pursuit of higher standing while the number fourteen of Ferrandis charged with all of his might...but even with Ferrandis unable to move forward, a solid standing of seventh was certainly a feat to work with before embarking on the main event. As the green flag waved for the surplus of twenty-minutes of action, all in the field engaged in extreme speeds while blasting through areas of clay and sand. There was little room for error when leaping amongst the rhythm sections, where consecutive triples spanned nearly the length of a football field...though Ferrandis managed to ace the combinations with brilliant tripling sequences. There was a constant reminder, via revving of the engine from that of Justin Barcia and Malcolm Stewart who were in rapid pursuit of his rear wheel, to not let off the throttle...regardless of how slick, this surprising soil of Arizona could become. Sweeping atop various bowl turns around the nine minute mark, a gap seemed to open up between he, Chase Sexton, and Cooper Webb; after making moves on both of the former champions in the laps prior...creating a bit of a different dynamic for the previous SX title holders to work from. However Ferrandis felt as if he belonged here, and would portray that with sweeping lines amongst the mechanics area where he remained polished on the throttle as the sand rollers deteriorated more and more...with the timer continuing to tick, Dylan would try his best and capture the position of fifth, which was occupied by Hunter Lawrence. Though ultimately it was to no avail, Dylan's charge and ability to surpass that of Sexton and Webb was admirable - which solidified him in sixth overall, as action concluded in Arizona.
