DYLAN FERRANDIS | GRIT-226 | 450MX
The winning aspirations of Yamaha's Dylan Ferrandis were known by all in the industry, and would be displayed for everyone to see once more as the Yamaha rider attacked the racetrack in Massachusetts on Saturday. After qualifying third, he would storm into the first moto with a superb first lap of action; where migrated to a position inside the top-five, with his sights set on KTM's Aaron Plessinger and the privateer, Ty Masterpool. Ferrandis couldn't wait to move past the number seven, therefore after various outside passing attempts on the Ohio native, he would explode to the right side of "AP," surging around the outside of the former 250cc champion with a daring streak of speed and accompanying launch from one of the largest singles on the racetrack! The leap would have him then approaching the rear wheel of Ty Masterpool, where Ferrandis was urgently seeking away around; all the while dodging a line of roost that would hinder the movement of he and his Yamaha machine. The relentlessness of Ferrandis eventually led to a pass being made, after countless attempts (and near collisions) amongst he and Masterpool; where Dylan's frustration eventually climaxed to a definitive block-pass being conducted in the final left-handed corner before the finish-line. Twenty-one minutes then remained on the clock, and with Ferrandis now solidified in third, the gap to that of Lawrence and Sexton appeared to be a bit too far to overcome. His start to the second moto was incredible, where he took an initial lead following the first turn...until he and Jett Lawrence would leap from the initial ant-hill thereafter, where the Australian would jump past him and make a decisive pass by diverting to the inside and nullifying Ferrandis' line to the top of the hill. He would then reside second for nearly ten minutes of action, until Chase Sexton's will to move forward had to be accepted; with the Honda rider sprinting to the outside of the straightaway alongside the mechanic's area, claiming the second-place position with bold maneuvering. Now in third, it would be a process of pulling away from Aaron Plessinger, while simultaneously trying to reel-in Chase Sexton. Though the Honda would stay out of reach, it would be Ferrandis' perseverance that withstood the elements, to eventually clench third when passing by the checkered flag; which was strong enough for an overall podium, in the sand(s) of Southwick.
