DYLAN FERRANDIS | GRIT-223 | 450MX
Believing that he possessed the endurance to succeed within this challenging Colorado atmosphere, Yamaha's Dylan Ferrandiswould command attention from all who watched with countless laps of immense speed during qualification. Every facet of the raceway would encompass a driven, unwavering attitude in the pursuit of higher standing - which led to a final registry (within practice times) that equated to fifth, prior to moving forward into the races thereafter. Once clicking into gear behind the starting gate for moto number one, his Yamahaengine would thrive as he and dozens of other riders roared atop the opening hillside. It would be Jett Lawrence, Cooper Webb, and Adam Cianciarulo who led the field around, with his standing of a top-five proximity being a place to work from as minutes transpired. However, all momentum would come to a halt, when he approached the right-handed corner that was just after last year's mechanic's area...when a rut he had chosen (just off the midline of the course) was severely hooked - leading to a pretty severe collision with Aaron Plessinger as they both then crashed to the ground! He would rebound in thirty-second, and do everything in his power to gain positions on the leaderboard in the laps thereafter. Scrubbing the finish-line tabletop to the best of his ability, he would blast his way through the consecutive left-handed corners that followed; paying no attention to the aspirations of any riderbehind him as he attempted to garner the best lap-time(s) possible. There was a deceiving tint to portions of the soil amongst the raceway, where riders wanted to dive forward with their front end(s) - but underneath the top layer, the base would cause wash-out(s) and crashes alike, that would nearly claim his Yamahachassis on multiple occasions. However his quick-witted reflexes were superior to many in the division, and he was able to maintain a significant pace while passing the halfway point, and also pulling away from those outside of the top-fifteenwho were doing everything possible to overtake him for his ascending position(s). Though as time would pass in the moments thereafter, there was little that could stop him from claiming seventh- which set the stage for the following round of action as well. He would forego using the brakes until the final milliseconds as he and the field sprinted into turn number one of the second round of racing, with dirt clods flying every which way that hindered his vision when hitting the double shortly thereafter. He would have to acknowledge the KTMof Cooper Webb who was firing forward at a phenomenal rate in the earliest of segments though; nearly clipping Ferrandis' swing-arm on more than one occasion as they dove into the tightest switchbacks on the circuit! Jett Lawerence was already beginning to build a lead at the front of the pack as laps were amassed, but the battle between he and Webb was on as they sped into the toughest portions of the latter stages. Though a subsequent mistake would divert him from a top-three residency after Aaron Plessinger and Cooper Webb had moved forward, he still seem solidified inside the top-five until being pursued by Ty Masterpool. Both riders would run side by side while leaping forward with huge aspirations, jumping into ruts with daring moves of courageousness - until the number eighty-one worked his way around. But Ferrandis wasn't done once the Kawasaki sped away, and proceeded to engage in some of his fastest laps of competition as the moto neared completion. Passing Webb on lap nine, he would then pursue Masterpool with all of his might, until only a few corners remained...where he pushed forward around the Kawasaki, for third in the moto when crossing the finish line! And with that performance, his overall score would be boosted to fifth in the final standings.
