DYLAN FERRANDIS- GRIT 228 450MX

DYLAN FERRANDIS | GRIT-228 | 450MX

Accustomed to hard-packed racing surfaces throughout his youth in France, and time spent on the MXGP circuit, Yamaha's Dylan Ferrandis would possess tremendous ability to flow through the hard-packed section(s) of this Washougal racecourse...which led him to assemble a standing of fifth for practice, before bombarding his way into the first moto of the afternoon. Once here, the number fourteen would immediately do his best to rival that of Jett Lawrence and Chase Sexton, knowing that the Honda tandem would be engaging in an all-out sprint to the front of the racetrack. However it was Ferrandis' clutch release (and accompanying shifting points) that prevailed above all as he rounded the first corner, claiming the hole-shot designation with a pack of furious 450cc riders just behind him! Ferrandis' speed was exceptional and acted as an outstanding attribute that carried him to two laps (in total) to be led, before being overtaken by Jett Lawrence before the third circuit was over, just after passing the top of "Horsepower Hill!" It was a rather sly move that was made on behalf of Lawrence, but the "fight" remain instilled in Ferrandis as he attempted to maintain the runner-up position. The aforementioned position was then intact, until the seventh circuit; when Sexton would launch from the top of the largest drop-off on the circuit, and proceed to out-charge Ferrandis on the outside before the forthcoming left-handed corner. Dylan wasn't discouraged though, proceeding to put as much power to the ground in the laps thereafter as all in the field stormed toward the checkered flag...and as he eventually captured a final position of third-place, Ferrandis was feeling confident that he could do much the same in the second round of racing. Yet again, as gate(s) crashed in the latter stage of the afternoon, it was Ferrandis who rounded the first corner near the lead; shuffling amongst the top-three while contending with the likes of Aaron Plessinger and the usual Honda tandem. Ferrandis wasn't going anywhere, and continued on his pattern of strong laps amongst the hard-packed soil(s) of Washougal; floating across the makeshift rollers that had been created, that were more symbolic of braking bumps and chop, rather than as a means to jump over! Regardless of what was positioned in front of his Yamaha chassis, Ferrandis would attack the raceway with an unrivaled competitive spirit; aspiring to work his way around Jason Anderson and Aaron Plessinger (as he would then reside fifth). Though unable to advance forward (in regard to numerical standing) it was Ferrandis who remained a staple inside the top-five throughout the sixteen-lap contest. And as the dust settled for the final portion of racing, the fifth-place categorization in the second portion of moto's was enough to equate him to fourth in the final standings...where he will plan to build from, following the break in the schedule!
