As the Triple Crown format came to fruition for this mid-March weekend, all in attendance would be focused on the high stakes implications that each main event would provide. Knowing that every gate-drop was crucial in regard to earning a notable overall finish Yamaha's Daxton Bennick, would be eager to begin battle as the opening race was underway. After completing the first full lap with his vision focused on the green flag, the early race lead was a definitive confidence boost for the athlete aboard the number fifty-nine machine. All seemed to be well, until a slight mistake on the multi-plateau segment allowed Cameron McAdoo to work his way by. Tom Vialle would immediately pass by as well, moving him to third...which preceded a wash-out of sorts that occurred in the sand section not long thereafter. He would drift to fourteenth on the overall leaderboard, but would do his best to return to single-digit territory that was once acquired. All the while, he was monitoring the presence of Utah's Pierce Brown who resided behind him - aware of how large the gap had grown, while also seeing that the GasGas rider was rather quick on the far side of the track (in comparison to the finish-line). His analyzation was key in eventually racing toward a finish of eleventh, before surging into the following portion of the finalé with confidence. As pins unlatched, his rear wheel would thrash into this pristine Indiana soil in the first few laps - carving amongst various trenches that had been etched into various one-eighty degree corners. He didn't seem to pay any attention to a glaring, opponents fender that would sneak into his peripheral view - especially given the sights of the Kawasaki opponent who pursued him (after Hammaker had crashed)...never once letting up on the throttle en route to exiting the bend. He would hover around the fifteenth-place position while seeking the cue to engage in a sprint of sorts with three circuits to go. And even with the frame beginning to drag, while his foot-pegs carved into the soil below in a multitude of corners, he carried his momentum with superb confidence - garnering fifteenth (despite trouble in the early going), at the checkered flag. For the final moto, he vowed to put forth as much speed as possible in order to sustain the highest finish...and the battles within the top of the field were endless, as constant line swapping was conducted despite the endless grooves that littered the course. On a number of occasions, would Bennick mimic the pace of Cameron McAdoo in front of him; which, enabled him to pass his teammate Nicholas Romano was well. It was almost an identical simulation to moto's at the test track, as he and the fellow Yamaha rider were competing against one another...making the process seem rather familiar to both SX rookies. In the end, Bennick's true talent flourished amongst the unrecognizable canvas - leading to a brilliant finish of fourth, which boosted him to a prominent standing of tenth in the final rankings.
