DAXTON BENNICK GRIT-229 250MX

DAXTON BENNICK | GRIT-229 | 250MX

The newly nominated Nicky Hayden Horizon Award winner, North Carolina's Daxton Bennick, would carry a sense of confidence into the Unadilla facility that had to be recognized by all who opposed him as engines were started to commence practice. The number 241 would move forward to a position inside the top-twenty prior to the first moto beginning, and knew that with one of the most difficult first turns in all of motocross about to be embarked on, that his ability to pass amongst the opening lap would be crucial. Therefore after beginning the segment in twenty-second, it was a non-stop process of pinpoint the fastest lines on the track while eliminating as many mistakes as possible. The left-handed corner and drop-off before the finish-line could be described as balance beam(s), with any shifting to either direction causing a mishap of sorts and subsequent loss of time. But Bennick paid no attention to the "what-if's" as he sped into fourth and fifth gear on the open portions of racetrack that the layout allowed. The rider who sported the number 241 would make passes on names like Preston Kilroy and Carson Mumford, where he ricocheted from crusted berms in specific sections - and cut across established ruts when necessary, if a pass were to be made. There was little that could stand in the way of the 2023 Loretta Lynn's Open Pro Sport champion, and as the (over) thirty-minute moto eventually came to a close, it would be Bennick who was solidified in fourteenth prior to beginning the second portion of competition. Following a multitude of delays, Bennick's composure remained exceptional as he fought to get into the top-ten when the green flag waved. Landing from the finish-line lip, a harsh "thud" could be felt in the areas that surrounded due to the flat landing area in which these athletes descended to. Bennick wasn't one to be rattled though, and would float over that of ski jumps and tabletops alike, while passing Carson Mumford and defending his position from teammate Haiden Deegan simultaneously! The number 238 would generate quite the following, but Bennick remained focused on the task at hand as his teammate came closer to his rear wheel....and with Bennick eventually occupying the ninth-place residency (once and for all) his final standing in the overall points (of ninth) would be exceptional as the "NC" native continues to rise.
