COTY SCHOCK - GRIT 241 250SX

GRIT-241 | 250 SX

Following a brilliant performance in Detroit, ClubMX Yamaha's Coty Schock was eager to compete at AT&T Stadium. The work ethic of Shock was beyond admirable, and after vowing to give it his all for every gate-dropping occasion, Schock proceeded to engage in phenomenal speed on a variety of SX layouts. That's exactly what occurred for both practice and heat racing formats in Texas, where the number sixty-nine began the nine-lap quest in fifth. Remaining here through the halfway point, he would lose a position to Husqvarna's Guillem Farres, but wouldn't allow the descend to slide much further than that...keeping his focus forward while on the Dallas SX course. Henry Miller was now behind him, and Schock knew the fellow veteran was rather quick-witted and sly in his race-craft; but Coty was having none of it while showcasing stellar output of his own. The sixth-place was registry was obtainable and one that could give him a substantial gate choice for the finalé thereafter...and as the final flag waved, it was Schock who garnered sixth overall in the record book. He and his team would devise a game-plan for the main event - where Schock's reaction time equated to a ninth on the timing and scoring registry as the green flag was thrown. Scrubbing his way over the finish-line, Schock knew that milliseconds were crucial when chasing opponents of this magnitude...but he would hold his ground inside the top-ten, battling with Max Anstie and Farres yet again while traveling closer to the halfway point. Using both sides of the whoop-pad as ruts made their way through the moguls, Schock's rhythm enabled him to slowly reel-in Nicholas Romano despite being overtaken by the British rider, Anstie. And on lap seventeen, the number 511 (of Romano) would be surpassed by Schock...all the while Coty attempted to latch onto a fellow Yamaha rider (i.e. Bennick) simultaneously as well. The final few moments of the moto were crucial, and though Coty could see that of Chance Hymas not too far ahead, he understood that overriding the circuit amplified the possibility of a subsequent crash happening and loss of points. But even as pressure arose, Schock thrived - residing in the eighth-place residency as the leaders began to cross the finish line double. And yet again, would the ClubMX rider prove that he was one of the elites of the division!
