COTY SCHOCK - GRIT 239 250SX
May 18, 2024 · Coty Schock

GRIT-239 | 250 SX
Though a late-season team change would be tough for many to overcome, ClubMX Yamaha's Coty Schock adapted and excelled amongst his new role amid this particular unit. He refused to give up and was appreciative of the team that brought him aboard, and as practice began on Saturday he quickly put forth an effort that was applauded by all in attendance. Once into the festivities of the late afternoon and early evening, Schock would gather a sixth-place start while just behind his teammate Jeremy Martin. The Yamaha tandem was riding spectacularly well, with Coty hitting his line with effortlessness while keeping the likes of Trevor Colip behind him. Schock and Max Anstie would find one another in the closing moments, with the American rider presenting quite the challenge to the surging veteran. There was little room for error on this rather tight and confined course, but Schock was proving that the hard-fought laps at the pristine ClubMX training facility were worthwhile. He (Schock) knew that the end was in sight, and even after Anstie had worked his way around, he proceeded to latch onto the rear wheel of the Honda in a towing manner of sorts...all the way to the checkered flag. Eventually securing a notable score of sixth, there was little time to spare prior to beginning the main event. The chaos of the finalé first turn was an episode of crashes that took-out a majority of the field, though Schock's vision through the initial left-handed bend allowed him to power forward and acquire a standing of fourth-place early. Lap after lap in the minutes that followed, he would present a tremendous pace; one that allowed him to mimic Daxton Bennick, even after being passed by the number fifty-nine. Holding strong in the fifth-place residency as they passed the halfway point, he would then inherit a position after an unfortunate mistake from Chance Hymas. Now established as a contender in a top-tier standing, it was a matter of attrition as the clock continued to near zero...he stayed calm and present, nailing the countless grooves on the track with optimal balance. Landing amongst pockets of rhythm lanes with the perfect amount of momentum, his timing was second-to-none as the white flag was thrown. Even with athletes like Pierce Brown and Jalek Swoll behind him, Coty was solely focused on excelling to an incredible fourth-place standing...which was eventually finalized while being categorized as one of the strongest feats of his career.
