COTY SCHOCK | GRIT-211 | SX 250

Yearning to wow the crowd in the grandstands, Coty Schockwould create quite the eruption from those who traveled from around the world to few this one-of-a-kind spectacle. The history and aura of this Daytona facility was unlike anything else in motorsports, which motivated Schock as he bombarded his way onto the circuit for qualification. Enacting laps in bundles, his multitude of two and three strong lap(s) consecutively, would prove that his stamina was able-bodied for the battle that was about to ensue; his cardio and strength were top-tier, and even in the heat race that followed that was evident on behalf of the Phoenix Racing Honda rider. Laps one and two were scenes of his front number plate being pelted with clay clods of various sizes, his knuckles taking a tremendous beating while he sprinted behind Nate Thrasher and Tom Vialle, with an astounding start of third place! Only tucking his visor (on occasion) he wouldn't deviate from the main line if it were the fastest pathway on the circuit, which was apparent in the sand sections on the infield. Hugging as many insides as possible while keeping the engine "humming" in third gear, his expedition to the checkered flag would be anything but easy. Managing to triple his way into the platter of singles that were just after the finish-line (on the third and fourth circuits) his timing and throttle control in the transitions were enough to accrue multiple bike lengths between Schock and his teammate Jace Owen, who wasn't far behind him. Maintaining a steadied state of output, there was little that could stand in his way as he approached the final lap of the evening. Roosting all who trailed as he sped down the backside of the wall-jump with only feet to go, he knew the track's outlook for the main event would be rather grotesque, upon finishing sixth in heat one. Dragging foot-pegs as he barreled through the opening circuit of the final trek, his intensity was on the highest level when speeding across the start straightaway ant into the elevated/off-cambered corner. Evading crashes time and time again with an abundance of momentum, he would carry forward beneath the tunnel-jump, as those in the crowd (on that side of the circuit) waited with anticipation to see where he would stand as he emerged into view (from the bridge that blocked). Exhibiting a planted stance on the chassis, his power throughout the whoop section that was furthest from the finish-line was immeasurably impressive. Hitting a seam through the middle of the decimated mogul pad that had him pulling from another teammate (Cullin Park) as the final quarter of the came to fruition. It would be easy at this point to lapse with his momentum, but his competitive edge would accompanying him to the finish-line, garnering eighth as all would conclude.
