COOPER WEBB - GRIT 238 450SX

COOPER WEBB | GRIT-238 | 450 SX

The tactician, Cooper Webb, was eyeing the track with an ecstatic sense of competitiveness as practice sessions were underway on Saturday. The circuit was beginning to break down by the minute, and all who watched knew that the North Carolina native was destine to flourish as the track deteriorated into its roughest shape. Jumping through the whoop sections long before the qualification rounds were over, Webb was residing inside the top-ten as all was said and done for time(d) trials...which set the stage for moto one of the main event, where Webb fought through the first few laps to garner second and definitely make his way around Ken Roczen and Jason Anderson. Once into the runner-up position, Webb's game-plan was mostly on the offensive front where he attempted to reach forward and latch onto Chase Sexton. His hopping lines through the whoop sections were paramount (as previously stated) and aided his ability to solidify second from the opening lap to checkered...finishing with a remarkable runner-up registry before exiting the raceway. The starting sequence for the athlete aboard the number two machine in the following main event was immaculate, racing to an early lead with Plessinger and Anderson just behind. Anderson would quickly make the move though, leaping into Webb's immediate radius while Cooper then was forced to relinquish the reign to the Kawasaki rider. Now second, Anderson would gap his machine to over five-seconds...but Webb sought the overall, and remained content within the runner-up standing. Though Jett Lawrence was approaching in the latter moments, Webb wasn't sweating it - and proceeded to cross the checkered flag with a silver medal for this race. Hovering around the sixth-place position to begin the last main event, he then moved into to fifth while keeping his teammate Justin Cooper at bay. There was constant shuffling amongst the top-ten, with Anderson moving forward into single digits as well. However, Webb kept the overall win in mind and managed the process of victory via a standing of fifth. Ultimately residing here at the finish line, Webb's veteran aptitude was enough solidify him as the overall winner! Gaining twenty-five points in total, he would remain in the points fight as the series heads to Detroit; steadily working his way to the pinnacle of the leaderboard, where a hopeful mid-season surge was set to be conducted!
