CHRIS BLOSE | GRIT-218 | SX 250
Seeking to accrue confidence and expertise while rounding the circuit for a myriad of practice sessions on Saturday, the early opportunities that Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Chris Blose was given would be taken advantage of as he jumped into the top-tier(s) of the 250cc East Coast practice standings. Through the sand section, his number fifty-seven machine would be accelerating on the rear wheel while he kept the front-end afloat; hoping to garner as much traction on the latter end of the machine as possible before bursting onto the brief straightaway that followed. Eventually escalating to a position that sent him directly into the first heat, he would be eyeing the first turn with the utmost focus while clicking into gear. His jump from the line was respectable, and led him into the confines of this narrow right-handed bend contending for a position that would send him to the main event, though the sprint was far from over as riders were sent in an array of directions. Knowing what was at stake, he immediately attempted to increase the gap between him and KTM's Tom Vialle on the second and third circuit(s), remaining precise with his velocities when tripling through the rhythm lane before the dragon's back. His line through the whoops was just off the midline, where his entrance speed was apparent and greater than that of the French rider who trailed. Both of the formidable competitors would pass the four minute mark and into the last (roughly) three minutes of action, squaring against one another while contending for an overall residency of third. He eventually would take the spot with a definitive second-gear sweeping of the final right-handed corner, cresting the face of the finish-line with a feeling of accomplishment before heading to the finale. The crowd would erupt with applause as he and riders like Hunter Lawrence would have their engines exclaiming at the top of their might, running near the seventh-place position to begin the final portion of festivities. Scrubbing his way over the final triple before the sand section, the veteran (Blose) would have a way of disguising his pathway(s) into the aforementioned terrain, never once telegraphing which side of the sand section he would choose as Henry Miller continued in pursuit behind him. A continuous pattern of acceleration was going to be key, especially through the grooves in the corner after the "SX" triple, if he wanted to obtain an eighth-place overall finish at the conclusion of this sixteen-minute segment… and with attrition, the accolade would be his for the clenching as the checkered flag was thrown. But he paid no attention to the cues from a rivaled supporting cast, and proceeded to power forward with phenomenal staying power within the final six laps of action. It was evident that his stamina was top-tier, which led to the eighth-place residency being his, as final results were calculated at Nissan Stadium.
