CHRIS BLOSE | GRIT-217 | SX 250
The veteran, Chris Blose, would register for the East/West Showdown understanding the implications of racing at event of this magnitude. He'd been amongst this position countless times throughout his career, and knew how to complete the intense racing format in order to generate success and thrive by the time the main event would conclude. However there was little that could prepare him for what was to come in the finalé, however when the racetrack was dry, the Arizona native certainly flourished. After powering his way through practice where (at times) he battled for the pole position, he would move into the 250SX East Heat race and was immediately established in fourth on the overall leaderboard. He battled with Tom Vialle and Jordon Smith in the laps to follow, which was admirable given that if this were a main event, he would be contending for stellar top-five overall designation. It was Blose's race-craft in the final two laps that would have him figuring out specific lines in order to get around the KTM rider (of Vialle), which translated to an astounding fifth-place finish as the checkered flag waved! In the hours to follow, Blose wasn't necessarily categorized as a "mud specialist" but his veteran aptitude was certain to find an efficient way around the track. Throughout the muck that was now specified as the racing surface, Chris found a way to thrive; pushing through lines that were filled with water while somehow managing to pummel the whoops with brute force! This would move him forward from an initial twelfth place standing, to tenth; as he, Michael Hicks, and Jo Shimoda would battle for what seemed like an eternity. Blose wasn't going to make a mistake, and refused to lapse in focus as the three-quarter mark of the moto had passed. However with roughly five minutes to go, it was time to defend his current placement from a hard-charging GasGas rider, known as Pierce Brown. Blose could hear Brown clawing at the rear wheel in the latter stages, and the Kawasaki rider would climb through the inside of the split-lane(d) rhythm section while keeping the number thirty-three on the outside. It was then a mad dash to the finish line, and after inheriting a position from RJ Hampshire in the final corner, Blose was solidified in tenth...finishing his tenure in New Jersey with a feeling of accomplishment.
