Chase Sexton's performance at Red Bud was phenomenal, and the Illinois native aspired to replicate that showing for competition in Millville, Minnesota on Saturday. He was proficient in practice, and among the fastest times as athletes exited the raceway, prior to embarking on moto-one. Once there, his run through the opening circuit equated to a standing of third, while being heavily pressured by Jason Anderson. He was relentless in his pursuit of Aaron Plessinger, whom he eventually passed on the downhill, preceding the Mt. Martin obstacle. It was then a process of challenging for the lead with Hunter Lawrence, where both competitors were bouncing through multitude of rollers on the track...though Sexton appeared to have a distinguished rhythm through the infamous whoop-section(s). And then, with just under ten minutes remaining on the clock, Sexton's constant pressure would erase Lawrence's lead - with the athlete aboard the number four machine leaping over a makeshift double/roller combo at the top of Mt. Martin, claiming the lead in the process! From that point onward, Sexton established a gap that was applaud-worthy and spanned over ten-seconds...which was sustained through the checkered flag, respectively. Once into the following moto, his opening standing (near sixth) was a solid position to work from...but again, Sexton made quick work of passing opponents like Jason Anderson, en route to obtaining the third-place registry. He, Lawrence, and Justin Cooper were then involved amid a battle for the lead when nearing the halfway point. And after Hunter Lawrence would overtake the Yamaha opponent, so too would Chase Sexton...only seconds thereafter. As Sexton entered into the corner that split the back-to-back whoop section(s), his sense of force was too much for Cooper to disregard...and the Illinois native forcefully obtain the runner-up accolade. At that point, his mindset was focused on zeroing-in to the rear wheel of Hunter Lawrence...which led to a phenomenal pass being made, just after the start straightaway. The move would occur around the twenty-nine minute mark, and Sexton's swift/quick entry into the subtle, swaying "S" curve, was enough for the Illinois native to definitely claim the lead! Once there, it seemed as if nothing could stand in the way of the KTM rider. Regardless of dry conditions, or rain that had fallen, Chase flourished...en route to an eventual moto victory, and another, one-one performance which translated to an overall win!
