CHANCE HYMAS GRIT-224 250MX

CHANCE HYMAS | GRIT-224 | 250MX

Honda's Chance Hymas would transition from an eighth-place practicing effort to the afternoon showcase of moto's with spectacular speed, as he swept through the opening lap of moto number one to a seventh-place residency prior to passing by the mechanic's area. Hymas was superb amongst the off-cambered corners of this course, leaning with precision while battling amongst the top-ten. He would use his clutch sparingly amongst the muddy conditions, as overuse and excessive feathering of the lever could cause his engine to overheat - but luckily the Idaho native was rather conservative in his efforts, and would pass that of Preston Kilroy while advancing to sixth. Caden Braswell and Jo Shimoda were moving forward with significant speed, however, and Hymas had to acknowledge the velocity of his opponents when in the corners just after the largest flyaway/quad jump on the far side of the track. Hymas would couple both of his rotors, with a descending sense of engine braking which allowed him to stay polished amongst the ravines rather than coming to a complete stop at anytime. Lap after lap, Hymas would monitor where he stood via messages on his respective pit board; looking forward to making a final four-circuit charge where the clock was roughly eight minutes in duration (and expiring by the second), and seeking the checkered flag. And only being passed by Jo Shimoda as time came to a close, it would be Chance who claimed eighth while seeking to present a superior slate of skills for round number two. Levi Kitchen was the hole-shot winner for the second moto, but Hymas quickly made his way forward and took the initial lead on the racecourse! Hymas was flourishing at the front of the pack, leading the most high-profiled competitors in the series for the extent of six laps - prior to heading to the seventh circuit where he was passed by Hunter Lawrence. He would follow his teammate amongst a myriad of lines for a good while; prior to being overtaken by Tom Vialle and Levi Kitchen. He seemed to have fourth-place wrapped-up, until a hard-charging Jo Shimoda was located (and couldn't be stopped) as they sped through the final six minutes of action...leading Hymas to sustain a remarkable fifth-place moto score, as all was said and done. Now finalized in fifth, his final overall score of sixth-place was remarkable and an accolade to build from in the coming weeks!
