CARSON MUMFORD | GRIT-214 | SX 250

The newfound Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki rider would have an immediate impact on the 250cc West Coast standings, where Carson Mumford yearned to returned to his dominant amateur racing form in front of the crowd in Seattle, Washington. Though plagued with injuries and misfortune for many years throughout his career, Mumford would vow to seize the moment while attacking the track at Lumen Field; putting his best efforts forward throughout the relatively sloppy conditions of qualification. His wheels on the Kawasaki 250F would spin as he applied an outpouring of power, however Mumford was in control at all times and remained polished when nearing the finish-line. Conducting countless triples in all three rhythm lanes after the finish line, he would eventually do enough to accrue fourth before heading into the night show. Once here, his start would be exceptional while battling with Hunter Yoder for the lead. Yoder was riding very well, but the momentum of Mumford couldn't be denied as they sprinted amid the second full circuit of action. Carson's line through the initial rhythm section (after the finish-line) would be comprised of triples that enabled him to pass the number 508 machine, keeping a spectacular flow intact while now residing in the first-place residency. All the while he would be pursued by Pierce Brown, who was refusing to remain dormant in second as they approached the five-minute mark of the moto. At that time, Mumford couldn't do anything but allow the GasGas rider to the inside in the corner just after the "SX" triple - squaring-up the bowl(ed) turn to the best of his ability in order to counter the flow of the Utah native. But it was to no avail and Mumford would be forced reside runner-up as action ceased. This preceded the main event, where Carson's initial placement of eleventh would quickly be foregone as he burst through the latter half of the top ten. Weaving in and out of riders while scrubbing his way over the wall jump, he landed from the steep single with an abundance of power while seeking to overtake Hunter Yoder near the halfway point. And once the move was made, it would be an all out dash to the finish line while trying to defend his standing from that of Pierce Brown. The GasGas rider was stellar, and managed to work his way past with little time left to spare; though the Californian was persistent in his pursuit of the checkered flag behind race leader, Jett Lawrence. All in all, his accrual of eighth was admirable; and a standing that he could build from in the weeks to come.
