CAMERON MCADOO| GRIT-209 | SX 250
Arguably one of, if not the, most resilient rider in the sport, Cameron McAdoo would again prove his tenacity was world-renowned when lining up to compete in Oakland on Saturday. He'd been beaten and battered in countless crashes throughout the years, but after recovering from his latest injury, the race against time was extremely important in regard to lining-up in Northern California. McAdoo would make his presence known immediately though and exhibited a blistering pace in practice, tacking whoops of all sizes while executing the strenuous rhythm lanes on the lengthy circuit. His attitude was fierce and embodied fearlessness, which generate an impeccable lead to begin heat number two of the 250cc division. His patented "crouching" style would stay flowing in an aerodynamic way, where he thrashed the whoops as if they were minuscule mounds of little existence. However, the would be one opponent who seemed to do it just a tad bit better...and it was none other than Jett Lawrence. McAdoo would put-up quite the fight and block passed the Honda rider for a number of turns. But it was on the cusp of lap five, where Lawrence's antics were too tough to ignore. Sweeping to the inside of his Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki machine, McAdoo had little room to do anything but oblige and would let the red-plate holder work his way forward. Cameron would still pursue the pinnacle of the leaderboard, never ceasing to put his all into the racetrack until the checkered flag was thrown. He sought redemption in the finalé, where a second-place opening position was noteworthy, though he was surrounded by both rivals (Hampshire and Lawrence) while contending for an overall victory. McAdoo remained in second, until just around twelve minutes were left on the clock. It was then, that Lawrence's rhythm in the outside of the smallest whoop section was too much to be ignored; and McAdoo would have to allow Jett ample room, on his way around. RJ Hampshire would then fall (shortly thereafter) and hand the lead over to Lawrence, but his dismount from the motorcycle wasn't quite long enough to allow Cameron around, either. Therefore McAdoo would gun, for the rear wheel of the Floridian; remaining just behind the twenty-four, for the extended duration of the moto. Solidified in third as the referee cued engines to cease, McAdoo's gutsy performance would keep his championship hopes alive for another round.
