BENNY BLOSS - GRIT 242 450SX

GRIT-242 | 450 SX

Racing aboard the all new Beta 450 RX machine, Missouri's Benny Bloss had been working tirelessly behind the scenes to excel within the highly competitive 450cc SX division for 2024. His demeanor toward improvement and constantly heightening his skillset was admirable, and translated to the demanding raceway of Daytona as practice began on Saturday. Believing that he could run within the top-ten by night's end, Bloss' corner speed was spectacular when carving amongst the deep soil(s) of the Floridian racetrack...and translated into heat two, where he battled amongst the top-three for a solid portion of the opening segment(s)! He and Justin Barcia were on a paralleled trajectory, though Ken Roczen's early mistake was quickly erased...via the Suzuki rider returning to the pinnacle of the leaderboard at the conclusion of the second lap, which caused Benny to descend to fifth in the running order. Now fender to fender with Honda's Hunter Lawrence, Bloss was executing his lines amongst other elite factory riders from around the globe...finding a flow alongside Malcolm Stewart as well, with two circuits remaining. His willingness to fight forward would ultimately be a defining factor in, inheriting another position as the checkered flag neared...as he capitalized on the mistake of Hunter Lawrence, moving into sixth as the final flag was thrown. For the main event, Bloss' attrition was paramount and he used the attribute as a catalyst to prevail amongst adverse circumstances after rounding the opening circuit in seventeenth. Passing riders in bundles from that point forward, he was swift through the deepest of ruts while also sustaining sensational whoop speed and focusing his mindset on obtaining an accolade inside the top-ten! He had then acquired eleventh after briefly making a pass on Jason Anderson, and overtaking Dean Wilson as well on the twelfth circuit. Proving that his machine was more than capable of excelling in the harshest of terrain, Benny's outdoor prowess was showcased as he sped through grueling braking bumps and never wavered from twisting the throttle...keeping GasGas' Justin Barcia at bay as the checkered flag appeared at the top of the finish line take-off. Eventually finalized in a tenth-place standing, both he and the Beta manufacturer would have to feel a sense of accomplishment with a thriving performance...at undoubtedly the toughest racetrack on the tour - creating quite the foundation to work from, in the weeks ahead!
