ADAM CIANCIARULO - GRIT 234 450SMX

ADAM CIANCIARULO | GRIT-234 | 450 SMX

Florida's Adam Cianciaurlo continued on his pursuit of garnering a solid overall finish in the SMX Championship, following notable efforts in each individual series thus far. The 450cc class was filled with riders of the highest caliber, but "AC" welcomed the efforts of all as he initiated the first moto with an early race lead! After battling with Justin Barcia though, things started happening rather quickly...where the number fifty-one would crash just after the sand section, where Cianciarulo nearly clipped the downed rider. And just corners after that, Adam would be unfortunately involved in another crash (over the abrupt wall jump/tabletop obstacle) where he went to the outside tuff-block and was involved in a mishap of his own! This would deter him to around the seventeenth position, when the field was forced to restart. Once there, he would rapidly burst from the start straightaway, making his way into eleventh by the time lap five concluded! However with names like Ty Masterpool, Garrett Marchbanks, and Colt Nichols in front of him, the task to move forward would be anything but easy. Nevertheless, the attrition of the Floridian prevailed - where he weaved his way into single digit territory after making moves on the names of the former, except that of Yamaha's Marchbanks. Narrowly missing overtaking the Utah native at the line, it was "AC" who'd done enough to garner seventh as all concluded. For moto-two, his start was phenomenal; where he was just behind Chase Sexton and avoided the chaos which was just beyond his rear wheel. Though passed by Jett Lawrence just before two minutes had transpired, it was a matter of holding his position as long as possible while being attacked by various athletes who were world-renowned. Ken Roczen was the next to overtake him, but Cianciarulo wasn't going to let these opponents around without a fight of his own - where he pivoted through various bowl turns while applying the rear brake, releasing the clutch with a competitive intent while noticing a blue fender in his peripheral view. It was none other than Cooper Webb who was the next to try and challenge the rider who sported the number nine...and with valiant effort (until the conclusion of the seventh circuit) would Adam keep Cooper behind him. Though fifth at that point, he seemed to be cemented here until an unfortunate crash was broadcast on behalf of Chase Sexton - where Cianciarulo secured another position while nearing the conclusion of the moto. Now fourth, with an ample gap over that of Colt Nichols, Adam's consistency throughout both main event's was enough to secure a spectacular feat of fourth-place in the final standings!
