ADAM CIANCIARULO | GRIT-230 | 450MX
The speed and talent of Kawasaki's Adam Cianciarulo would be on display as timed trials came to fruition in Mechanicsville, Maryland, where the number nine was categorized inside the top three for the largest portions of qualification segments. Concluding the final stage within the aforementioned podium territory, "AC" would be a near-guarantee for a solid overall finish as racing action on the East Coast came to fruition. Adam would do his best to plant the chassis of the Kawasaki into the first corner with authority, hoping to not drift too far wide on the exiting straightaway as a pack of rampant 450cc riders were hounding his rear wheel. His explosiveness within the first moments of action would equate to an early race lead, where the Kawasaki rider looked superb at the front of the field! For minutes at a time, "AC" was taking command of the field, with Aaron Plessinger just behind. His role within the first-place category would be held until just around the ten-minute mark of the moto...where Plessinger's inside line amid "Henry Hill" would be notable, and enough to force Adam wide in the corner there after. Now second, Cianciarulo would have to deal with Justin Barcia, and Jett Lawrence, who were moving forward quickly. Lawrence would make his by after the first, initial downhill on the circuit around the halfway point - putting "AC" into third at that point, but with Barcia and Jason Anderson now remaining persistent in their means of passing the Kawasaki rider. The ability to hold on to the current pace on behalf of the number nine would be admirable; where you could see that "AC" longed to sustain his position inside the top portions of the running order for as long as possible. Though eventually descending to seventh, the speed that Adam showcased would undoubtedly be on tap for the following race as well. After refueling and rehydrating for the second-moto of the afternoon, it would be time for Cianciarulo to engage in an adrenaline-filled environment once more...stepping into a realm that was encompassed with aggression and competitiveness, amongst one of the most grueling sports in all of the world. Adam would rise to the occasion yet again, floating through the rollers before the finish-line amongst the first two laps, residing inside the top-five after conducting a strenuous battle with that of teammate Jason Anderson. Adam's fight, and will to leave it all on the track would be applauded and acknowledged by all in attendance; where he and Anderson would nearly go fender-to-fender amongst multiple sections while competing for the fifth-place accolade. He would eventually funnel into a flow behind the number twenty-one machine, and present enough speed to defend his position on the track from that of Ty Masterpool, as well. As all would eventually conclude in Maryland, Adam's sixth-place run in the final stage of the afternoon equated to a seventh-place overall as well - which embodied tremendous speeds, and a positive outlook for the foreseeable future!
