ADAM CIANCIARULO | GRIT-225 | 450MX
The weekend festivities at the legendary Red Bud Motocross venue were spectacular as always for 2023, which accompanied racing action on the track; where Kawasaki's Adam Cianciarulowould blast through various corners with aggression, keeping his 450ccengine revved to the maximum extent where the soil was deepest. Skying over "The Leap" time and time again, his will to win and fearlessness would be instantly displayed...leading to the initiation of moto one, where the crowd would be focused on the pinnacle of the field, and series leader, Jett Lawrence. But Cianciarulocouldn't be disregarded, however, and proceeded to move forward at the height of third and fourth gear when leaping into section(s) after the starting area. The pro section would be rougher than imaginable, with a myriad of line(s) in all vicinities as "AC" flew through the hillside; digging into the horseshoe(d) corners on the circuit with the inside foot-peg carving into the soil, and feathering the clutch when necessary. His execution of the largest sweeping right-handed bowl turn (where formally their was a wall/drop-off) would be paramount when distancing his machine from that of Aaron Plessingerwho trailed; where the gap between the two adversaries would be lengthened each time they hit the tabletop thereafter. This track seemed much faster than usual, but the suspension of his Kawasakicould take it as he rigorously dug through the latter stages of the thirty-(plus) minute outcome. And as he even passed that of Dylan Ferrandis, with a daring move on the seventh circuit, the Floridian would prove that his stamina, arm strength, and overall sense of speed were certainly on the rise. Adam remained explosive as the race neared completion, where he resided fifth just behind Ty Masterpool...but with just over one minute to go on the clock, a swift pass to the inside (on the roller-double, after the course's initial step-down) would cause the Kawasaki rider to slide out - and Masterpool to flip over top of him! With the bike now damaged, and only a bit of time remaining, Cianciarulo would be forced to pull off the track and gather a score of thirty-first; seeking redemption for the following round of racing. In the hours thereafter, he again exploded from the metal grate with authority - transferring his weight to the rear wheel while flying amongst the outer banks of the racetrack. His effort was hard to match, especially when you could hear the outpouring of throttle and RPM when charging into the corner after the start straightaway; putting every ounce of "grit" into leaning forward in the direction of the handlebars, while stacking in an attack position. His heart-rate would spike, but the composure of the former amateur phenom was commendable as the field neared the twenty-minute mark, where air flow would be critical when temperatures would rise. And as the signal(s) of four laps to go, three laps to go, and then the two-lap board eventually came to fruition, it would be Cianciarulowho had weathered the storm of those in behind him, including his teammate Jason Anderson. With Aaron Plessinger and Garrett Marchbanks not too far ahead of him, Adam's final score of sixth (in the second moto) would be strong enough to propel him to tenth overall on the day, as well.
