With momentum continuously building throughout the 450MX season, Ohio's Aaron Plessinger seemed to be on an optimal trajectory as the Washougal national began. He was excellent throughout practice rounds as well, and advanced into the main event(s) with confidence. Brilliant, reaction time and shifting points were meshed together to propel "AP" to the front of the pack in moto-one. The 450cc brigade would take the opening moto slot, and Plessinger took full advantage of a premium racetrack as he accelerated further, and further from the field. The gap was to nearly three-seconds after five minutes of action, and remained prominent throughout the majority of the moto. He was hopping through braking bumps as if they were established rollers, and seemed to be efficient as dust would arise among the hard-packed areas of track. However, when nearing the two-lap board, Chase Sexton's presence couldn't be denied...and as Aaron Plessinger would stall the motorcycle with three circuits remaining, the former 250cc champion couldn't overcome the lapse in momentum. Sexton now had the opportunity to advance, and secured the first-place position, while Aaron claimed the runner-up accolade. For the second round of racing, his initial placement within the top-ten would hover amongst the top-five...before Justin Cooper had crashed, which enabled Plessinger to move into a fourth-place standing. He was trying to mimic Chase Sexton who was in front of him, which resulted in a brilliant pass being presented just before the thirteen-minute mark (on that of Hunter Lawrence)...where Plessinger's speed amid the corner that preceded the Monster Energy Triple, was enough to push Lawrence to fourth in the running order. The Ohio resident was third at that time, and strove to try and nullify the gap between he and Jason Anderson. But the veteran of the division was riding with a superb output of speed, and Plessinger was giving it his all, when trying to reach the rear wheel of the number twenty-one machine. He was aware of how fast the track was breaking down, and remained rather composed when speeding into the slickest portions of the circuit. Above all, he didn't want to portray any mistake(s), that were similar to the incident in that of moto-one...therefore he remained calculated en route to the checkered flag. With only Chase Sexton and the aforementioned Anderson in front of him as all was finalized (for this moto), it was Plessinger's combination of scores (via two-three) that propelled him to second overall on the final leaderboard!
