AARON PLESSINGER GRIT-225 450MX

AARON PLESSINGER | GRIT-225 | 450MX

There would be a subtle change to the 450cc narrative prior to the green flag waving in Buchanan, Michigan, as KTM's Cooper Webb was forced to miss this particular venue, while Kawasaki's Jason Anderson returned to action to contest the likes of Jett Lawrence and countless others. Factor-in Chase Sexton's registering for competition (as he'd been absent due to injury) and there would be a myriad of reasons for action to be extremely exhilarating for round five of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship. Aaron Plessinger was ready, and anticipating quite the battle amongst the laps that followed, when practice was concluded. "AP" would begin the moto around the fifth-place position, where riders like Ty Masterpool, Jett Lawrence, and Dylan Ferrandis were in front of him; and the Ohio native knew that he must enact a paralleled pace if he wanted to garner a solid moto score. Therefore Aaron would carve into the ruts of the infield, particularly before the triple that began the Pro Section; as a gnarly right-handed corner prior to a steep double would precede the aforementioned article. Lap after lap, (as Plessinger would actually be passed and default to sixth), he would maintain a steady output of speed - waiting for a mistake from one of the riders ahead of him. Ty Masterpool seemed to be the athlete to keep the train of athletes behind him, dictating a certain pace as Jett Lawrence broke away from the field. But as laps progressed (to the twenty-minute mark) the narrative began to shift...and Plessinger was ready for action. He would see a pair of Kawasaki's coming together just after the initial downhill ski jump - and it was Cianciarulo and Masterpool who had now crashed to the ground...which allowed him to inherit to spots and claim fourth, which was ultimately solidified as he crossed the checkered flag on lap seventeen. For the second round of racing thereafter, Plessinger would be battling amongst the top-three immediately - and reside third as the green flag was thrown. Though quickly passed by Chase Sexton, Plessinger would actually combat the Supercross champion and make a definitive move around the KTM rider; which lasted an impressive two laps in duration. However once being overtaken by the Illinois native not long thereafter, it would be Plessinger who had a rather uneventful moto (in the best of terms) while sustaining a pace that was equivalent to fourth. With Garrett Marchbanks behind, and a pair of Kawasaki's (Cianciarulo and Jason Anderson), Plessinger knew he couldn't cease in pursuing the checkered flag. And as all was eventually settled in Buchanan, it was Plessinger who gathered scores of (4-4) to claim fourth overall in the final standings.
