GRIT 302 -- 450SX -- 2nd -- Cooper Webb

Yamaha's Cooper Webb couldn't be counted out, and his trajectory for the event in Seattle seemed superb as practice took place on Saturday. Following a stellar practice effort, the established competitor set his sights on a successful performance for this Washington round. He then, prepared, for the opening stages of heat number two. Though just before the gate-drop, Webb would have a bit of trouble with his goggles — only receiving them moments before action began! He somehow, would obtain the hole-shot designation, and surpassed Hunter in the first corner - before going back and forth with the Honda athlete. It was the Honda competitor who ultimately moved forward, with Webb residing in second after only a short time had passed. The two were then paralleled with pace, with the gap seemingly being nullified as the contest progressed. At many stages, they were truly within bike lengths of one another! Though a pass would be made near the finish line (by Webb) with approximately two minutes on the clock..before Cooper would crash in a sector of jumps not long thereafter! It was an uncharacteristic move for the former champion, and he immediately went bar-to-bar (after a quick remount) with Aaron Plessinger! Second-place, was then again, his! From there, he remained composed and ultimately sped to the checkered flag.salvaging a notable performance, to take the runner-up accolade at the finish line. Cooper would lean to the inside of turn number one, to take the early main event lead! He was ahead of Eli Tomac and Ken Roczen, and looking confident at the front of the field. His lead was remarkable, but as the halfway point had transpired, and the final portions of the main event were on the horizon, Webb's pace began to be toppled by Eli Tomac. Then, a slight mistake (where Webb wasn't jumping the "three-on" to the tabletop in the middle of the track)) ensued...thus, Tomac would block-pass Cooper in the corner thereafter! He was then second, and tried to counter (with hard-fought charges) in the laps that followed...but it was to no avail. Webb would do his best, to then reside second and keep Ken Roczen at bay. The North Carolina native would do so, and while chaos ensued in the position(s) behind him, he continued to look ahead and pursue the KTM athlete to the checkered flag. In the end.

Webb would be finalized in second - putting forth another phenomenal performance for this event in Seattle!
