Brush Praire, Washington’s Landon Currier is definitely not a new name to amateur motocross.  As a title contender for many years now, the speedy prospect from the Northwest was on track to make a big splash at the spring nationals as he joined Ian Trettel on the new Xtreme Rockstar Suzuki effort for 2010.  However, a pre-season crash will relegate Currier to the sidelines this March while he recovers from surgery.  Always quick to rebound though; look for Landon at the front of the pack before long once again.

First off, tell us about the new team.

The Xtreme Canidae Rockstar Suzuki team is more than imaginable.  It is everything I've been looking for and I'm really excited to be racing on solid bikes and have a solid team supporting me. In the past I've always had great people helping me build my goals.  Now with the new team, that is all put into a foundation and we're set on being solid and winning races.

How were you feeling before the crash?

Right now I'm feeling great.  I have always had the speed; lately I've just thrown in being solid, which is a great link to success for me.

Tell us about the injury, what happened.

The injury was unfortunate, although it does happen.  As hard as I tried to prevent this, it was just a quick accident that will set me on the sidelines for a few weeks.  I crashed in Southern California at 1:00 PM, but we had a flight scheduled shortly after thanks to the group of people helping me out and I was able to be in Northern California for surgery with Dr. Ting by 7PM the same day.  Everything went as planned if not better, and now I am healing up and  going very smooth.

When will we see you back on the track?

I will be back riding again six to eight weeks from the time of the injury, which was February 3rd.

What are the goals once you’re back on the track?

I want to win races obviously. I want to be consistent throughout the entire year by getting some great starts and just putting in some great laps.  I just want to put myself up front in every possible race that I can.  I’d really like to thank the entire Xtreme Canidae Rockstar Energy Suzuki Amateur team, Thor / Parts Unlimited, Pro Circuit, Smith Goggles, Skull Candy, Alpinestars, Nike 6.0, Renthal, Excel, CTI, Kicker, Maxima, Hinson Racing, One Industry, Sunline and everyone else for helping this program be the best support out there!
