Some of the sports finest athletes hail from the great state of Michigan. The Rock River Yamaha rider Tim Badour is no exception. With the motorcycle gene pumping through the family bloodline even before he was born, it’s no surprise that Badour is where he’s at today. Every rider has a story, and if you get to know Tim well enough you’ll soon figure out why he hasn’t given up. If family losses and finances haven’t brought him down, nothing will. This kid is one to look out for.
MP: Tell us a little bit about the switch from KTM to Rock River Yamaha.
Tim: The switch has been great and the bikes are awesome, I’m really looking forward to the 2015 season!
MP: Moving forward from the recent injury, what are a few of your goals this year?
Tim: My goals this season are to stay safe, travel to more races, and be recognized as a true contender in the A class.
MP: We're all about the roots of the sport, what got you into motocross?
Tim: Well motorcycles have always played a big role in our family. My dad, mom and brother all rode which made me want to follow in their footsteps. My mom actually ironically passed away in a motorcycle accident on her way to work when I was young, and my dad gave it up to support my riding/racing, and my brother just grew out of it. I'm just doing my best to keep the tradition alive.
MP: It sounds like a real family affair! Aside from motorcycles and racing, what other activities do you spend your time doing?
Tim: I really enjoy skiing but I had to give it up since I spend my winters in Georgia, but I also enjoy longboarding, mountain biking and even occasionally frisbee with my friends!
MP: In one sentence, describe motocross.
Tim: Motocross is my motivation to get out of bed every day
MP: To all the young rippers coming up through the ranks, what are some words of advice you could give them?
Tim: Never give up, make resumes and send them to potential sponsors, make yourself known in a positive way.
MP: Let's hear it for all the sponsors and individuals who made this all possible.
Tim: The man above, my Dad, frank and Valerie Mann, Bob Croom, Andrew Campo, Jason Assad, Cycletrader Rock River Yamaha, Dunlop, Bell, Dirt Tricks, Leatt, Fly, Mika metals, dt1 filters, Roost MX, Eks brand, fuel clothing, Fmf, Sidi, Hazardous MX, Motorcycle Superstore and anyone I may have missed thank you so much.
MP: Again, thanks for taking the time out to have a few words with us!
