Aboard the #151 Horton Racing backed Yamaha is 18 year old Ryan Surratt from Corona, California. Surratt has been on the mend lately do to having four torn ligaments in his ankle from Freestone. Now back on the gas Ryan is feeling better than ever on the bike. With Mammoth right around the corner, he is ready to put his yamaha on the top step of the podium. We caught up with Ryan to see what he's been up to lately and what his plans are for the rest of the year.
MP: How has this year treated you so far?
that I had 4 torn ligaments in my ankle so I went home and took 5 weeks off and now I just started riding again and couldn't feel better on the bike. I raced all 3 pro classes and I won a moto and not to sure on how I finished in the others.
Ryan Surratt: The A class is really stacked this year so it's going to take a lot of hard work and dedication to bring home the #1 plate but if I keep on doing what I've been doing I know it's possible
MP: Besides racing, what else do you like to do in your free time?
Ryan Surratt: Well there isn't really much time to do anything else. I'm always busy doing something which is involved into racing, but if I have any free time I try and hangout with some friends which are usually from the track haha.
MP: How did you first get started racing?
Ryan Surratt: One Christmas my grandpa got me a pw50 and I started racing when I was 5 and I've been pretty much hooked since and can't see myself doing anything else at least for now.
MP: What's the most challenging obstacle that comes with racing for you?
Ryan Surratt: I think the most challenging is just being able to make yourself wake up and put the work in that you need too even though some days you really don't feel like doing anything at all because of being tired or being sore .
MP: Describe yourself using one word
Ryan Surratt: I have no idea haha.
MP: I know you have some people helping you out, give them a shout out for all they do for you.
Ryan Surratt: Yes I would like to thank Yamha, Enzo racing, Gaerne boots, Deft family, One Industries,
Cycle Traded Rock River, Horton Racing, Billy Lininovich and Lano Mx and anyone else I forgot thank you.
