Coming from Australia, now training at the Millsaps Training Facility is the #28 of Reg Magyar. Reg has been putting in the work, both on and off the track to prepare himself for the upcoming regional qualifiers where he plans to get his ticket to the ranch in Collegeboy, 450 B, 450 B Limited, and 250 B. We caught up with the Aussie to see what he's been up to lately and what his plans are for this year.
MP: Talk a little more about your training regimen...
Reg Magyar: I’m currently training full time at Millsaps training facility in Cairo Georgia. During the MTF we normally do one or two days of section work around the track, then the other days are moto’s and sprints. Now that Loretta’s is getting closer we are concentrating on longer moto’s on the track and increasing our cardio and body weight workouts. The training at MTF has been going great for me I have seen improvements on the track and in the gym which makes me want to keep putting in the hard work.
MP: Where was your last race and how did it go?
Reg Magyar: My last race was the South East qualifier at Aonia Pass. It went well for me and was good to qualify in all my classes. College boy, 450B & 450B limited, 250B.
Reg Magyar: My dad got me my first bike a Yamaha Peewee 50 when I was 5 years old. After watching my older brother riding around I knew I wanted to give it a go and I have been hooked on motocross ever since then. My dad took me to my first race meeting at our local Fairbairn Track.
MP: What do you like to do in your free time besides racing?
Reg Magyar: In my free time when I am home I really enjoy catching up with my mates. We all get together and go wakeboarding and surfing.
MP: what is the most challenging obstacle that comes with training and racing?
Reg Magyar: The most challenging obstacle that comes with training is when you are having bad days on the track and the injuries that come with the sport.
MP: Describe yourself in one word
Reg Magyar: Hungry.
MP: Out of all the tracks you have rode on which is your favorite?
Reg Magyar: Colleens track at her house would have to be my favorite track to ride at MTF the track layout is sweet with big jumps on it and is red Georgia Clay which is nice for a change.
MP: You have some people helping you out, give them a shout out for all they do for you.
Reg Magyar: None of this would have been possible for me if it wasn’t for the support of my family. I really appreciate that my dad and mum and given me this opportunity to chase my dreams. A huge thanks to Colleen and everyone at MTF for putting so much time into helping me get to where I am today. Thankyou to Motoplayground for the opportunity to do this interview.
