Coming from New York is the #411 of Nicholas Romano, riding for Team Green Kawasaki. Romano got a Lil' banged up last weekend after a killer fall during his second set of motos at Diamond Back Mx. Romano plans to dominate at regionals where he hopes to get his ticket to the Dude Ranch. We caught up with team Dunlop Elite rider to see what he has planned for the rest of the year.
MP: Talk about your last race. Go in detail, Tell me where it was, how all your motos went, what classes you raced and how you finished
Nick Romano: last weekend I raced upstate NY at the MSC series . It was at Claverack and I won all my moto's. Raced 65 stock &mod and 85 9-11. This weekend we went back to Diamondback another MSC series and I took 1st in both my 65 motos. Crashed out on the 2nd set of motos and just sat out the last race of the day.
MP: What's your goals for this year?
Nick Romano: this year I want to win as many titles as possible - stay safe and always make my sponsors proud of me. We did most of the spring nationals and next are the regionals for Loretta Lynn's. We then always end the year at Mini O's.
MP: How did you first get started in this sport?
Nick Romano: My 1st bike was a pee dub. My dad didn't take off the training wheels till I was 4 or 5 years old. We just started riding locally and a friend of my dads recommended we try out for Loretta's. I made it in that year on the pee dub and my cobra 50. It was probably one of the most exciting things to happen when your 6 years old. That's how it all began and I have loved riding ever since.
MP: What other things do you like to do in your free time besides racing?
Nick Romano: I love when the weather is nice to swim in my pool, shooting hoops in the park and my yard, and hanging out with friends.
MP: Talk about being apart of the Dunlop elite team.
Nick Romano: I love being part of Dunlop elite. They by far have the best tires that you can count on for always hooking up plus so many of my friends are on the team so it's always great getting together for the dunlop events and seeing them
MP: Describe yourself using one word.
Nick Romano: energetic
MP: Out of all the places you have rode on, Where's your favorite place to ride?
Nick Romano: I have so many favorite places - locally englishtown
MP: Finally, you have some people helping you out, who would you like to thank?
Nick Romano: I would like to thanks team green Kawasaki - team Dunlop- 100% goggles - JT Racing - PR2, my good friend Scott Sheak , my mom, dad and sister and all my other sponsors .
